It is obvoius that Dana and the matchmakers picking fights that will benefit SGB Irelanad, Cathal Pendred might have a good win-streak but if he would face Lim/Tumenov he would get destroyed.

same if Conor really faced Mendes, he would also get destroyed.

I do know that Ireland might not be good in sports in general except boxing and MMA, but it feels strange that they really take safe fights for them while there are many fighters that gets the wolves in their debute.

I like Patty Hoolihan. Not so big of a fan of Conor. He is legit top 10, but I think he's been protected from a real fight tbh.

as good as the matchmakers make them look

Well, Paul Felder is very good. Norman Parke is OK. Holohan is hard to judge unless he faces adversity. Pendred is the worst one of them. McGregor is in reality a top-10 fighter, and would get eaten alive by everyone in the top 5.

I agree that they, like Brazilians on Brazilian cards, get favourable match-ups, but this is inevitable.

Duffy will prove to be the cream of the crop..

I thought Paul Felder was from Philly or Chicago? I could look it up but I can't be arsed.

Oh, my bad. I remembered his nickname "The Irish Dragon", so I assumed he was Irish too. And yes, I forgot about Duffy who is a really savvy slick well-rounded fighter.

July just CANNOT come sooner. McG is going to shut everyone up and become champion. Will make it look easy, can't wait.

What have you seen that suggests Mcgregor would get "eaten alive" by a top 5 fighter?

Ireland has always been successful in sports, it's a sports-obsessed country. We're not Brazil because we're only six million people but if you made a p4p list, I'm sure we'd be up there with the best of them.

BTW Holihan was given a very tough
Debut as were Neil Seery and Paul Redmond.

Not so big a fan of Conor? Oh really?

Not like I see you in every thread related to him trying to shit on him. Who could have guessed.

SBGi is actually an awful camp, the history is that a few guys with no real credentials would meet in sheds or garages and they would just try to figure out stuff by themselves and learn stuff by trial and error. These are the same guys who are now head striking coaches at SBG, it is little wonder that Pendred and Daly's striking looks like shit.

The success of McGregor (who had good striking fundamentals already from proper boxing tuition) went to their heads and the head coach now swaggers around boasting about how many fighters he has in the UFC. Im not sure if he realises that Pendred, Daly and co are only there in order to have some local fighters for Irish cards.

Outside of SBG, Duffy is very good and will likely get even better at Tristar. Norman is alright.

And snooker, golf, rugby and everything horse related...
Considering we have a tiny population and our most played sports are GAA which is barely played outside of Ireland, we're doing pretty well.

This is exactly what Bas and his friend did prior/during the beginning of his career and he did damn well from it

this is nothing new.
They did exactly this in Brazil on UFC 1 & 2.
Favorable matchups. That gets the country happy and more viewers.
