Let's be honest about Max/Volk

Volkanovski has proven to be one of the most intelligent, tactical and well rounded fighters I've ever had the pleasure of watching in MMA. He's an incredible fighter and he's proven that he's a step ahead of Max, whether it be on angles, leg kicks, game planning or alterations mid-fight. Appreciate him and his skill.

While I'll always be a bigger fan of Max, I am a fan of Volk as he's an amazing fighter and a good guy. You can be a fan of and appreciate both. You should.

That's pretty much exactly how I see it.

Max is one hell of a fighter, and one helluva dude.

So is Volk.

I actually prefer seeing Max fight, given his high volume and pressure.

Stiles sometimes make fights.

I think Max could be a challenge Makhachev, quite frankly. More so than Volk.

Max has an iron shin, great TDD, and I don't Islam can hurt Max.

Not seen anyone put the kind of fistic pressure on Islam that Max to put out.

I say all of those explanations are exaggerations. Max-Volk 4 is competitive today. Max looked like crap in the trilogy fight - bad night for him. Some of us thought he was going down the Ferguson route after that night but clearly it was uncharacteristic.

Max is still on Volks level but with a resume a million times better while being younger.

I agree with you. Here’s the problem.

if max wins folk deserves an immediate rematch. If max wins again, there’s also an argument folk deserves another rematch. You see the problem here? At some point, enough if enough and you just have to accept how it turns out. But the fight makes sense, so I don’t see how we really have an option
 
Volk has put Max in the rear view.

This is like saying Aldo and Cormier shouldve got another crack at Max and Jones.

Are we really back to trying to give max as many rematches as it takes until he finally wins one?

The answer is no, we are not. Max has more work to do. He has only won two fights since his last loss to volk. Many guys, after losing the belt, they need to win 1-2 in a row just to get the first rematch. Since max wants a fourth rematch, he's going to have to put up a win streak longer than a couple fights.
 
TS won’t be satisfied until Max wins a fight against Volk lol.

Only reason you can make the argument for jones/cormier 3 is because jones popped.

He beat Mendes in his retirement fight after getting dropped and that Aldo fight was about as boring a fight as it gets. I honestly challenge you to go watch it. Literally nothing happened.

Ortega nearly finished him. Yair got badly headbutted.
 
We should never see Max and Volk fight again. Doesn't matter how many guys Max beats, it's just unnecessary. Sure, Max is still young, but that dude has some city miles on him. He had his chances, Volk is just a level above.

We're saying Max is 0 3 against Volk and the most recent fight was a shut-out. You said Volk had a bs excuse for the 2nd fight but in same breath say Max looked different in the 3rd ergo don't give it much weight, you can't have it both ways. Volk has a clear win, a close fight which I'll happily debate you that he rightfully won and an absolute shutout, he's proven he's better, just up to you to accept that.

Yet Volk beat them all plus Max 3 times. Damn for a guy you clearly don't rate his record is incredible.
 
Competitive or not, we have seen the same guy getting the decision 3 times, i thought Holloway won the 2nd fight but that doesnt make me want to see them a 4th time, specially in a relatively short amount of time, keep feeding him contenders, boxing doesnt seem to have this issue...

I can have it both ways because Volk got the unjustified W with his crap excuse and it is widely accepted and I am merely requesting that the courtesy is extended to Holloway. Both men had a bad night.
