the fact that he holds down a difficult job like that, with a family at home, while training to defend a heavyweight belt multiple times, all while never boasting or bragging says a whole lot about his character

Stipe is most definitely a stand up guy, all respect to him!

#Hespect... This is fighting... You don't win them all.

DC put out that fire.

Let's not forget he has a wife and family either

I feel very bad for him mostly because he is never getting a rematch. DC is going to completely move on. He will fight Brock and then maybe Jones one more time if Jones is available. He is going to retire very soon. So no rematch is ever happening. No chance at redemption..

Not sure what point your trying to make here. Stipe's character has never come into question. Working as a fire fighter is his own choice. Maybe if he focused 100% on fighting he might have won maybe?

No one every forgot he is a firefighter...Only reason to bring that up now is to use that as an excuse.

Here's how Stipe spends his time as a "firefighter".

at least he got it on JDS. struve is obv never gonna happen cuz struve cant barely stay in the top 10. id say if struve was like 10 now you could have booked the rematch just for stipes revenge, but i dont think even stipe cares about that

My point was that most champions train full time and don’t have day jobs. He managed to do both, and puts his life on the line to save people from burning buildings

Wow I totally forgot about that.

Is anyone aware that Tim Kennedy served in the army while also competing in MMA? Breaking news really.

Don't worry too much about it. Casual fans didn't even know who Stipe was leading up to the fight, they won't care about him after DC is done with his reign.

It sucks, cuz Stipe is a decent champ.

Yeah -- but I've thought for a while that he's doing himself a disservice staying in ohio with that camp. He's been able to have great success whilst there but I don't think he has competition really pushing him. His head movement and stiff footwork are just tells of a gym with no one threatening him and a coaching staff unable or unwilling to break bad habits due to his strengths being able to sometimes make up for flaws.

Imagine Stipe at kings or ATT?

Kinda feels like your making excuses for his loss tbh. Alot of fighters have lives and jobs outside of fighting. DC is a full-time pundit, and has a family too. Let's not play the who's more righteous game. And from what I hear Stipe doesn't even put out fires. He's one of those hold the fort, reserve guy's that works part time.

He works one day a week. It’s not that big of a deal. You can barely call that part time

Lol at Excuses for his loss- Look at my recent posts, I’ve been blasting all these guys crying about the eye poke nonsense. If he chooses to be a firefighter, that’s his decision. I was just saying it’s commendable

Difficult job haha. It’s the American dream job. Work 24 hrs where get to sleep and sit around Atleast half of the day and then get 48 hrs off. Rinse and repeat. I’ll give props to the fireman that have to deal with wild fires in zona etc but overall it’s the biggest cake job going

Keep drinking the UFC Koolaide.

Stipe is not a firefighter and does not put his life on the line saving people from burning buildings.
