It’s been a roller coaster from hell the last week.
At this point I just hope that everybody still on the card can put out their best effort. Pretty much everybody on the card has been affected in some way. Even if it’s just the circus this event has become.
Khabib obviously being the fighter affected the most. Between multiple opponent changes, and the attack on the bus. Rose, and Karolina were on that bus too. We know Rose is a little fragile mentally. And it’s really hard to say if she has been affected. Karolina appeared to be alright. But I can’t see inside the heads of others. I think those were the only fighters on the bus that are still fighting. But if I missed anybody. Consider them as being mentioned here.
If Khabib, or Rose lose there is guaranteed built in controversy before the fights even start. Karolina as well I suppose. It’s crazy that most of this was caused by somebody that didn’t actually have the fortitude to step into the octagon himself. But felt he had the right to attack and affect two honest hard working innocent fighters that have the biggest fight of their lives tonight. And another honest hard working fighter trying to get herself back to a TS.
I’m still amazed at the attack by McGregor, and his mob. And I can’t express strongly enough how cowardly, and abhorrent I find his actions. I’ll leave it at that. So as not to invite any ridiculous comments from his fans. And I’m not even mentioning the innocent hard working fighters that got pulled from this card through no fault of their own. But all of them will have recourse through the civil justice system. And I hope they avail themselves of that course of action.
People are crapping on this card left and right. That’s their right. But they don’t have to watch. And most certainly do not have to buy the ppv. I love wmma. So there being 3/9 fights with women is fine with me. But we all know many here do not like it at all. It was three male fights that were lost by the attack on the bus. So that’s shitty for the fans that hate wmma.
But I think the fighters still on this card deserve respect. They have been through a tough situation that has never ever been thought of before in the UFC. Let alone that actually occured.
I hope the refs, and judges are particularly on point tonight. As I said there is likely going to be controversy no matter what. But nobody needs any more bullshit than they’ve already been through. Or than we’ve already seen.
I personally am still fairly excited about a number of these fights. I’ll be in the PBP, and expect to see most of you there. I send my props and well wishes to all of the fighters still on the card tonight. Let’s have some good clean fights. Touch gloves and let’s do this.
