Think alot of people are sleeping on Leons chances at beating Usman. He has really clean, slick striking and is very methodical about how he approaches his opponents. Leons ones of the best strikers in the Welterweight and is good at fight planning.

With Usman the biggest worry is his great wrestling but I think Leons wrestling has improved dramatically since firsr fight. I can see Leon winning a boring decision by fighting safe and tactfully.

So you are saying there's a chance Leon Edwards could win, you don't say?

And here I thought the odds were -infinity Usman and +infinity Edwards.

The point is alot of people are underestimating Leon and think he cant win. Hes not a popular fighter and has been under radar past few years.

But skill wise Leon can make for a tough stylistic opponent for Usman.

Anyone can beat anyone, there's a chance the fighter ranked 999th could KO Usman.

Everyone has a chance, but I don't think Leon's are very good. This is pretty much a gimme for Usman.

I was kinda on the “easy fight” for Usman train but the more I’ve thought about it, there more I can see an upset happening. At very least, I think Edwards surprises a lot of people and gives Usman a tough fight.

Usman is getting to that age where fighters can begin to drop off quickly. He’s also known to have pretty bad knees which have caused him to wrestle less, which was a key to his victory the first time.

I am 100% writing Leon off. He’s not going to see the final bell

Embryonic Usman UD, and he’s 5 times the fighter he was then. Leon’s improved too, but not nearly as much as Usman. Leon is going to take a beating.

I agree, I can definitely see Edwards pull off a decision. Won't be easy by any means, but with Usman having knees made of Legos these days, he could get it done by spamming 1-2s and relying on his superior footwork.

I think it’ll be a very dull but technical fight. Lots of feints and figuring each other out in the first round or two with Usman working out whether he should be engaging in a boxing match or not here (he clearly shouldn’t). A round or two will pass and suddenly Usman will decide to go back to wrestling and spend the last three rounds in the clinch and in relatively comfortable control.

No matter how much I think about the fight and it being a fun watch, it’s impossible to get the first fight out of my head where Usman so easily neutralised Leon with his control and clinch work.

Usman on points.

Edward always comes with a perfected gameplan. However, he has not seemed like he changed as a fighter in general.
Since the last time Usman has defeated Leon, Usman has improved a lot, and keeps on improving.

So has Leon, his striking and footwork has gotten even more refined. Plus Leon has dramatically improved his wrestling to.

They both are much improved fighters and I am expecting this fight to look different than first one

This is such a bland and empty take. At least give some reasons or say how you see the fight going.

Saying "Leon is underrated and he has greater chances than most give him" is not threadworthy.

Now that is a pretty bold prediction, I like it. Can you expand?

I haven't thought much about it, I just think Leon's clinch and TDD are better than before and I'm not sure if usman can still wrestle the way he used to. If the fight is on the feet for the majority of the time, I think Leon out points him. I say 48-47 because I consider Leon a point fighter and a tactician, but I suspect his cardio may be worse than usman's which will result in usman picking up two rounds.

It's just my feeling, though. I do worry how Leon handles the pressure of finally getting the huge fight he wanted.

Leon has a chance and usmans knees might impact his takedowns. But either way we all know whoever wins this won’t be champ for long Khazmat is coming and would be favoured over them even in a two on one
