Only if Dana offers 1 mil + to Jorge, which he won't. Leon draws no one, and Jorge is all about money fights. This isn't going to happen.

Who’s celebrating? I’m just being realistic.

I don’t like the fact that someone like McGregor is in title contention with a 1-1 record and 1 fight at 155 in the last 4 years in which he happened to get dominated, but I would be a fucken idiot to expect him to fight someone like a Beneil Dariush or Paul Felder to climb his way up the rankings.

The reality of it is he’s in a position where he can kinda call his own shots and the UFC will try to accommodate him because it’s best for their business.

Jorge is in a similar position at the moment. The guy is on the cover of their video game and is one of the most marketable guys they have. They’re not gonna put him on a fight night card with no title involved against a boring decision fighter no one outside of sherdog has heard of, who has no momentum and hasn’t fought in over a year, and Masvidal would be stupid to accept such a fight. He’s made enough money and enough of a name where in order to get him to fight you need a ppv card, and a big name that will generate revenue for the company.

that’s just reality, and I don’t have to like it but if I was in his position I would do the same, and you would too if you have an iq in the triple digits.

Lol at trying to get this fight. You don't deserve this Leon. It's above your pay grade. Beat Chimaev first. Get some fans by beating him impressively, the you can fight a big name. Because at this point, Chimaev is a bigger name. Jorge ain't gonna fight guys like you. He's looking for big names. Big names that come to fight, not score points. Big names that sell. Only time we'll watch Leon is against Chimaev.

Lmfao what are you watching? Professional sport? Since when? Go watch Bellator, Rizin, ONE, PFL, etc. if you want sport. This is entertainment where fighters coming off back to back losses get title shots even at higher weight class. You get title shots over guys on 10+ win streaks over top guys in the division while some clown from a lower weight class moves up, loses 2x in a row and gets a shot at the belt. Or where retired fighters get a title shot at a higher weight class. Same sport that gives rank #13 a title shot coming off losses and steroids just for a rematch. This ain't no fucking sport lol

As a martial artist myself and a guy who wants to fight pro MMA as of today id have a hard time deciding between a PFL contract and UFC one...im not interested in whoring myself out for title shots...if thats where the UFC is headed for real...then im down with PFL
 
They should have made this fight after the 3 piece but I kinda think the UFC didn't because they didn't want to encourage fighters to get into it outside the cage to secure fights, but stylistically this would be a fun one and it'd give Leon a chance to get some eyes on him.

Journeyman Masvidal got extremely lucky against Askren.
Other than that he beat LW journeyman Diaz at WW.
He's milking his time as much as possible because he doesn't have a decent chance of beating any contender at WW.
