Leon Edwards smoked Diaz Rn1-4

Masvidal and Connor put it to Nate way harder than Leon did. Different styles, I get that, but if you’re put in the cage with Nate Diaz and his audience is watching you need to give us more than just fundamentals. Come out with some fire and make a fan out of me. We knew he was good, fought a picture perfect four rounds, but Leon has got to give us more.

Nate tried his absolute best to jump on him and get a finish, but he was far too beaten up and gassed to get anything done.

Edwards beat the brakes off Nate for 20+ minutes. Its hilarious to me when people were posting how Nate missed an opportunity, as though he didn't just get the ever loving shit kicked out of him for 4 rounds. He didn't have much left to work with.

Leon is good at everything, great at nothing. He's a big welterweight, competent in all facets of MMA, highly skilled with a good gas tank. He doesn't have stopping power or the type of elite grappling where he can pull of submissions.

Ultimately I think he's good enough to beat most guys, but just shy of championship material. It'll be interesting to see.

Another round and Nate would have finished Leon

Hes beaten washed up LWs like RDA, Cerrone and Diaz. He went to a SD with GUnnar Nelson

OVerrated

I've rewatched it twice and Leon put on a MMA clinic. He got caught in the 5th sleeping and, contrary to those who believe Diaz "didn't go for the finish," Leon showed great recovery and poise in that bad situation. Diaz jumped on him as fast as he could considering his fatigue/suprise/respect for Leon's counter striking.

Leon is literally as well rounded as a guy can be and had Usman panic wrestling years ago. Usman will forget the hands and dive at Leon's legs in the rematch that will happen after Usman beats Colby again. Usman probably beats Leon with his wrestling advantage, but Leon is a gift to you MF'rs and if you ever want to learn to fight just study his style.

This version of Leon might actually beat Usman. As crazy as that sounds, Usman was intimidated when they were exchanging and I think Usman knows that Leon is a serious threat. No one mentions Leons name for a reason and it has everything to do with marketing. It is not smart to take the Leon fight. He is too good and doesn't have enough clout on his name.

Well rounded af

Absolutely right. Leon had that in the bag. It's only Diaz and his likeminded fans who got off that fight with some sort of a moral victory

Unfortunately for Leon round 5 is a lasting memory.

I'm gonna break down what Nate meant by "winning the fight in real life":

Nate was closer to finishing the fight than Edwards. Sadly for Edwards, casuals aren't gonna remember the 23 mins he was winning. They'll remember Nate rocking him, taunting him, and walking him down. Nate brought the bloodthirsty crowd to it's feet, not Edwards.

And to hardcores, Edwards won, yes. but he's gonna be ridiculed and picked apart.

It's amazing to me how every single fight the Diaz bros lose always has some sort of caveat about how they really won. The only time people shut the fuck was when JT head kicked Nate into obscurity and even got his older brother to throw in the towel making them look like bitches.

Diaz fans love giving him moral victories because barely can get real 1s they have a cult like mentality lol

Are you guys alright?:D
First thread I finally see about this fight and you're all so....sherdogish.

Ya, I agree that the casual outlook doesn't represent the truth of the matter at all.
