Media Leon Edwards' 8 second KO finish in the UFC (video)

While I can respect his more conservative and technical style of Fighting where he displays his Well Rounded skillset, It's hard to argue that he'd be more Popular with the Fans and probably wouldn't have been strong armed into the Khamzat Fight if he was knocking people out, he's got the Legit ranking, but with his past decision Wins, he doesn't have much fan fare.

I mean, this is one if those mystical moments where the scales tip one way, or the other.

I wonder how popular he is in his hometown. He actually seems to be a likable guy. People generally don't like his style, but he seems to be a professional. And the only way he could be more popular to fans if he upsets Khamzat, beat Colby, and with the belt from Usman. Tough tasks but with his skills, mindset, and how he does his thing even when he's not getting the spotlight, nothing's impossible.

kek Why am I yellow again ?!

I'm sure he's very well liked, and I agree that the only way he gets over is by beating Khamzat and stealing Hype, but I feel he NEEDS to make a statement, he can't afford to have a close fight with Khamzat or that leaves the narrative open for the UFC to spin it VERY unfavorably for Leon.

Dana can easily go "He struggled against Khamzat" or some shit, and some people will use that as to why he's not deserving of a Title Shot. Leon's in a tough spot unfortunately, and while I agree he has the Skills, if he doesn't do something impressive this Fight and god forbid loses...

I don't even want to BEGIN to imagine how FUCKED Leon is. You can tell UFC wants Khamzat to win so he can take care of Usman as well.

It's nice knockout, but Baczynski was trash by that point. He was cut directly after the fight and finished his career with a 22-17 record.

Not to mention, it's Leon's only KO in 12 UFC fights. He was given a TKO over Sobotta with 1 second left in the 3rd round of a 3-round fight in London.

And here is Leon getting dropped and very nearly finished by Bryan Barbarena. This was 6 fights after the Baczynski KO.

Agree, Leon's gotta seize that moment. I like Khamzat but I like Leon too. Would be very interesting to see this final fight of 2020.

Was Leon cutting height there, or has he grown since he was 23 years old? Tale of the tape has him at 5'10" in that fight, he's currently listed as 6'0".

Think Khamzat might have bit off more than he could chew taking this fight.

Leon won the fight, this is in the middle of his current win streak. Barberena is 2-2 since then, so what's the point.
