Nintendo Legend of Zelda: A link to the past appreciation thread

I loved ALTTP, but got a genesis after the original NES, so didn't play it until much later. As much as I lived it, the original ToZ is my all time fav since it was one of the few games I had a beat it over and over again.

The NES was the first system that was truly mine. I never owned the SNES at the time, it was all about the Genesis, especially Road Rash, Streets of Rage and Madden and NHL, which the latter two were superior on the Genesis.

It's too bad I had to choose because I missed out on a lot of great JRPG's. I really liked Phantasy Star IV, but I always consider FF7 on PS1 as my first, so when I got an SNES around 2000, mainly to play earlier FF games (Super Castlevania & Metroid too), I couldn't get into those 2d JRPG's. It was a massive visual/audio step down from the PS1 greats like Xenogears, FF7, Suikoden, Star Ocean etc...

I've been waiting for an HD remaster/remake of a Link to the Past for a long time. I thought after Link's awakening that we'd get one. Maybe it will be a Switch 2 launch title, that would be cool!
