Article talking about how Conor turned into a wrestler shooting for takedowns against Nate Diaz .. and how Silva didn't want to mess with Lee Murray's hands either.

At UFC 196, Nate Diaz outstruck 'The Notorious' Connor McGregor to the point that McGregor got so tired of getting way-laid that he dove for a takedown against the super dangerous Gracie Jiu Jitsu Black Belt and would tap soon after.
It's not the first time an elite MMA striker chose to avoid striking and took the fight to the ground. While English-Morrocan fighter Lee Murray is more widely known for scoring the biggest cash bank robbery in history when he led a crew through a £53 million pound heist in 2006.
As astonishing as that armed robbery event was, it is probably even more shocking that on September 11, 2004, after a high intensity staredown that would make Nick Diaz proud, Lee Murray turned the all time GOAT striker in MMA, Anderson 'Spider' Silva, into a wrestler, diving for takedowns at all costs, starting around 1:05 of the below video:
It's not that uncommon for a fighter to take a dangerous striker like Lee Murray down to the ground. However, Silva, as great of a striker as he was, decided his best option was to grapple with Murray until he was too tired to pose as much of a KO threat. Again, we see this happen from time to time, but for Anderson Silva to avoid a standup fight?
Well, if you stick around enough watching this sport, I suppose you'll eventually see everything.
With recent news that Lee Murray could be released from Moroccan prison soon, could these two rematch at some point? Word is that Murray wants to settle a score with a different opponent, Alex Reid, first, but I'd be up for seeing Murray fight anyone, really. He was always an aggressive fighter with dynamite in his fists. And with the years off from MMA, he might have enough chin left to make a dent in the game.
