I haven't seen this potential super fight being discussed as much as others on here. GOAT WW vs. top 5 all time WW. This would be a great fight in my opinion. Who you got?
 
Close to 3 years away from competition. I'd take Lawler.
 
GSP only wants money, he doesn't give a shit about the WW title or fighting the current Champ, Robbie Lawler, he'd rather take an easy Conor fight than deal w/ a real monster like Robbie.

I think this is the cold hard truth.

He can make a few million fighting Robbie, and it would be a brutally hard fight for him. Not just because of the matchup, but now its age, rust and pressure.

The fact that Firas is talking about wanting Nate lets you know where they are at. A big, relatively easy money fight might get him to come back and rain down cash without taking brain damage.

Maybe, but it's still gotta be tempting if you're GSP. A win against Robbie would be one of the best wins on his resume and while the payout wouldn't be as juicy as a McGregor fight, it'd still be more than 95% of other fights.
 
Just recently rewatched all GSP fights. Feel he's the best ever, and that even now he would dominate everyone at WW.
 
50 - 45 GSP...9/10...It's the one time that slightly, worries me.

No, to fight a legit monster like Robbie Lawler, GSP would have to really get off his ass and train like he did when he was actually defending his strap, otherwise Robbie is going to push his shit in.

HOWEVER, GSP could have a competitive fight w/ either Conor or Nate, even w/ ring rust.

GSP vs Nate would be awesome. Wouldn't be excited about a Conor fight though, I think Georges would beat him soundly. Ideally if he were ever to fight Lawler, he would take a tune up fight first.

What makes you think GSP wouldn't work his ass off? I can't think of one.

Rust is a bit of concern but MMA fighters spar pretty hard. Assuming GSP can shake off some rust in the first round (because a real fight, especially a title fight is different) I think he would mirk Lawler.
 
People still drinking the koolaid.

Lawler isn't Alves, Hardy, or Fitch. GSP had trouble with Nick and Hendricks' TDD yet you brainwashed kids think he easily 50-45s Robbie? A southpaw that can easily negate GSP's jab and won't be worried about GSP's pitter patter strikes is not an easy matchup.
