I use that same ear flush, I'm still on the same bottle from 2 years ago. Luckily she doesnt get wax build up too bad.

isnt that the truth. i burned money badly trying to save my bunny daisy. 6 months and a lot of money later, she didnt make it. now my sister tells me when my animals get sick, "dont do another daisy". i dont care. better to try than to not, imo.

My ps2 amazingly still works. The only thing that I've had to do was solder the wobbly power connector board at some point.

It's the og model bought in 2000, they built that fucker well.

I had lost my male to kidney failure a few months before and I had a 6 month old baby. I don't know how I'd of reacted if I lost another dog at that particular time. The male was 4 and when she got sick she was 3. I'd be lying if I said spending that kind of cash was easy, i couldn't let myself make it a financial decision.

Also they wouldn't treat her until I paid by cash or check and there was a STEEP surcharge for using a credit card. Who thinks to bring their checkbook? and I don't make a habit of carrying that kind of cash. It's a business not run on compassion but one that feeds on it. Sorry about your bunny. I'm sure you tried everything you could to save them

im sorry man, that sounds like a shit time of things.

see, i think there are definitely clinics that do things in a shady manner to maximize profits while providing poor or mediocre care. i mean, it's been seen in a clinic a couple towns over from me, even. but there's a lot of practices that aren't raking in money like that. it costs a hell of a lot of money to run a veterinary clinic, one on the up and up anyways. idk. there's for sure sharks in the water but i can't begrudge them for wanting to make a profit for the work they're doing. like you say though, doesnt make dropping all that cash easy. its painful even, but you do it because losing your little buddy is a worse pain than that.

oh god, i hope i never have to solder anything again in my life lmao. its not hard or anything, just, i get freaked out using a solder iron lol.

the only thing ive had to fix on mine is the tray. it wouldnt open and close. fixed that ten years ago. not gonna say anything cocky tho, dont wanna jinx it lol.

tbh all of the consoles i have (wii and super famicom -untested- aside) work great. shit was solid man.

My local vet is ok. But I can't trust them in life and death situations. North Star doesn't treat animals except for emergency situations or surgeries. when my male was going through kidney failure his teeth were falling out. North Star wanted 5k to pull his teeth, local vet told me they would do it for less then 1 but I shouldn't do it.
I go into North Star with my eyes open. I read reviews and it's a lot of love and hate. I agree with you they need to or should make money, their model works because they are always busy. They can't match my love for my pets and they don't need to or pretend to.
My local vet sent me a card after I lost my male and they included a hand drawn picture of him and a paw print. They cared.

im not familiar with north star so i cant say anything about them, but if their doctors are specially trained maybe that raises the cost? though for a teeth pulling, idk man. with the bunnies theyre under "exotic" care so no visit costs less than $500, and ill only allow the top vet there to do surgery on them. im gonna get the best care i can for money like that. my vet also sends cards when one of my animals passes, its nice, though a sad reminder when youre just minding your business getting the mail lol. pawprints you have to pay for though, which i always do.
