After considering Lasik surgery for years, I'm finally ready to get it done. Had an appointment with my ophthalmologist to make sure someone with my eye condition could get it done and she gave me the green light.

My ophthalmologist said that If I have Lasik surgery done, I absolutely should have it done by a surgeon who does a patients' eyes on different days. I was shocked to find out some doctors do both eyes on the same day.

Anyone here who has had Lasik? Thoughts on having both eyes done on the same day?

I had it done about 5 yrs ago. both eyes were done at the same time. best thing I ever had done. no complications. was done by Dr. Norden in NJ

I had both my eyes done within 10 minutes at UCLA. What's' your eye condition?

I had PRK a couple years ago and they were both done on the same day.

Separate days seems weird.

Do they expect you to wear a pirate's eyepatch for a day? That could actually be pretty cool

Found a surgeon in my area who only does each eye on separate days. The guy sounds very conservative. I'll most likely go with him (depending on how the consultation goes of course).

Does it cost more to do it one at a time? I assume it would.

i got PRK around 6 years ago. Healing time was very long, and my eyes were in a lot of pain for a few weeks. But slowly they got better, and now i have 20/15 vision. I would probably pay double (paid 4600) to get it done. Very happy with how everything turned out. My eyes do get dry, but that's a small price to pay IMO.

If its not to late I'd suggest checking out ICL, where they insert a custom lens for you. No damage to the eye(important for me because of combat sports), and completely reversible. Went from being hella nearsighted to better than 20/20, and no dry eyes. Comparable cost to custom lasik.

If you're active I'd get this procedure:

PRK can offer important advantages over LASIK.

Wow good luck.

When I spoke to the Goons at Baylor they told me a lot about the potential consequences of doing crazy stuff after Lasik. PRK was ok, so I went that route. It's been really swell.

Both eyes, same day- this was over 15 years ago and my vision is still 20/20 or better.
Great decision to get this done.

Both eyes same day about 5 years ago. I absolutely love it.

It's life changing imo.
