It's not a yes/no question. Are black crimes rates higher than whites is a yes/no question. What you're asking is about a complex social/economic interaction with decades of preceding institutional and individual components.

You could ask the same thing of vehicles. you really only need something to get you from here to there so why doesn't everyone drive a fuel efficient subcompact?. With the exception of very specific areas and circumstances most motorways have a clearly defined upper limit of speed so manufacture vehicles that can exceed that for civilians?

Anyway, I own a glock and I'm happy with it but I wouldn't complain if they started making it really hard for people to get these kinds of guns. I don't know about y'all but I can't even go to the fucking movies anymore without feeling paranoid that some psycho will start shooting. They also should go after illegal gun possession/sales harder than they are already.

Paying attention to news can instill all sorts of irrational things.

Just check the statistics in terms of how many people go to movies over a given year, vs how many people are killed in a movie theater shooting each year.

Unfortunately, politicians and others are all too aware of how irrational thoughts and emotions can be played upon to push whatever agenda they are working on, so we'll likely see the gun banning rhetoric ramp up for a bit like we do after most high profile shootings.

I’ve been to several European countries, namely Ireland, England, Belgium, and Germany, and asked that same question. The answers I got were mostly that they either don’t have them, or their in small enough numbers where you can effectively trap/poison them. Their farms are also significantly smaller than the ones we have here. Some good family friends have a collection of fields that are several square miles in area, and that’s just one families operation. The truth is, the police can’t come out and shoot them, they’d do nothing else and there are very few LEOs here per capita. Trapping can work sometimes, but they’re in too great of numbers and you can accidentally trap endangered species. A rifle is the simplest, cost effective way to do it. Also our county has had only one homicide in the past five or six decades, so it really isn’t an issue around here.

What's the point of that? Seems like it would make more sense to use one rifle and buy as much ammunition as you can for it. Maybe one or two other firearms for back up I guess but 10? Doesn't sounds very smart but he obviously spent a lot of money on this.

Hmmm, maybe he figures there was a small chance that he'd burn through all his ammo for his rifles before cops arrived and he'd have a chance to escape.

If he did, there'd probably be 3 hand or so handguns there.

So figure he has two rifles and 2 more for backup, so each window has 2 rifles. That's 4. Then the handguns 3. Maybe a shotgun or something that would ensure if he tried to kill himself he'd blow his head off proper. Maybe another weapon in case of close quarter combat at the hotel in case he got raided BEFORE he was able to start his rampage.

So, I'm scraping the bottom of the barrel to get past 8........
