The UFC is long overdue to add knees to grounded opponents. It was never more evident than last night in the main event. There's literally no repercussions for failed TD attempts in the UFC. I don't know what needs to happen to get this rule changed, but enough already.. Stop protecting panic wrestlers, it's weak sauce.

This plus foot stomps and soccer kicks.

Basically, UFC should have PRIDE rules + elbows. US MMA is so watered down it's fucking crazy!

Totally watered down, it would be 5× more exciting. Not to mention adding yellow cards would be smart as well. It's just frustrating after watching what I watched last night and knowing what it could be.

Seriously. and allow upkicks to people on top of u, allow soccer kicks. allow strikes to the back of the head, I wanna see a real fight.

Smith is lucky. He was about to get soccer kicked multiple times lol. Knees and kicks are really not that more damaging than a clean elbow coming down.

One of my favorite MMA tropes is how picking your leg up to strike is supposed to be this takedown killer 😂

How the hell has that not been changed all these years.....

Are there other American based organizations that allow them? The hurdle is the AC's. They add soccer kicks and someone from the NYAC sees it as looking like a full on street fight and not a sport. And they won't sanction it. The UFC won't risk having major venues like MSG lost because some of us want these rule changes. Sucks, but that's reality. Money talks.
