Any opinion on this car? I am hearing two types opinions :
- absolute piece of shit
- undestructable 4x4

I feel like the reality is more nuanced. Horrible vehicle for the road and for modern comfort.
But unbeatable, very reliable workhorse on rugged terrain if you like rudimentary stuff with no electronics.

Any experience?

If you're using it on private land like a farm, it can be a cheap reliable form of transport.

On the road it's a death trap, poor handling and about as crash reliable as a rusty sardine tin.......

A reliable piece of shit- Soviet car industry in a nutshell.

<{anton}>
I think this sentence embodies the diversity of opinions on the Lada. It certainly is a POS from a technology perspective. I mean that thing is stuck in the 70s and has not evolved at all.

But if you are looking for a 4 wheels, an engine and a steering wheel that goes everywhere and is reliable, why is it a POS though?

I feel like the people who hate the Lada take it completely out of its context.

Yes I share you view on the road part. Possibly the worst car on the market. But to use it on mountain trails/farmland/forest trails?

To sum it up

It will never leave you on side of the road but moment you arrive and turn engine off it pretty much explodes lol

Absolute garbage by modern standards.

But very basic, so not a lot goes wrong, so also easy to fix.

The simpler the mechanism => the fewer chances of malfunction.

That said, if you buy a CCCP manufactured car, make sure you finetune it before driving, then it's like a tank. Your great great great great... great grand kid will be driving it.

Land Rover products are notoriously unreliable.
So are VW. Our actuaries who do data for quality of used cars in terms of cost of repairs, time of repairs, and cost of parts...won't even let us put one with over 36k on our used car lots. Huge issues with turbos, head gaskets, and transmissions. Also loads of electrical issues.

OP are you Eastern European or you a slavaboo?

great cars probably. 90s are long gone i bet they have better handling then then
