Rules for me but not for thee

I believe she's very representative of the frustration that numerous business owners are feeling around the country not just LA. Will be very interesting to see what repercussions, if any, Newson will see from all of this come the next election cycle.

Can't watch the videos at work (blocked). Summary?
She posted a facebook "rant" regarding her business being shutdown with the Covid restrictions but in the parking lot a catering company was allowed to setup outside dinning for a film production. She had already invested some significant money in refurbishing her outside dining area to allow for distancing, etc to remain open but be respectful of distancing considerations. Says it was a slap in the face that she has to close but that catering company is allowed to set up shop right next to her. Her message is getting a lot of attention.

Small summary here ill more if needed.
A Los Angeles restaurant owner made an emotional plea to who she referred to as “out of touch” local officials in California, warning that new coronavirus shutdown orders will have devastating consequences.

Angela Marsden, owner of the Pineapple Hill Grill & Saloon in the city’s Sherman Oaks neighborhood, warned on "Cavuto: Coast to Coast" on Monday that small business owners and employees, who are struggling amid the coronavirus pandemic and its associated restrictions, are “going to die' from poverty, depression and suicide.

She was right though, it very much is a slap in the face that while her business goes under and her employees aren't making a paycheck that a catering company was allowed to set up shop right next door because they are associated with an entertainment project. Gavin and Garcetti aren't going to do anything to upset Hollywood but everyone else can fend for themselves.

It was apparently catering for an NBC production. You'll never guess which network deceitfully edited her video, and then mocked her for not caring about COVID.

Maybe she should close her business and work as a greeter at Walmart instead?

Destroy small business. Empower large corporations.
And we continue to move further towards a corporatocracy.

Bet I wouldn't be shocked, not one little bit.

Newsome is hack of a person. No wonder some losers like revolver like him

She is very much right and part of the problem is that their isn't an explanation on why its ok for them and not for her or others. The only difference I'm aware of, working in the business, is that those on productions need to get tested daily/every other day and have a covid officer/rep to make sure standards are kept up. I'm assuming that is not the case for small businesses or restaurants. I do believe because of the higher amount of folks in the hospitals, a number of productions have been shut down.

I'm sure these exceptions need a better understanding or they are simply the political machine being the political machine. Gavin and Garcetti certainly aren't unique in this situation across the country.

TLDW -

- Restaurant owner took out loan to invest in setting up outdoor dining. Due the new ban, she doesn't have enough money leftover to stay in business through the holidays supplying carry out only. Therefore she's shutting down the restaurant and laying off her employees.
- The City of LA approved a movie company operating next door, including a giant outdoor eating area, directly next door to this woman's restaurant.

So basically it's ok for this movie company to operate normally next door, including serving meals in an outdoor facility... while she's having to shut down.

Democrat leaders have gone fucking retarded...

well, she's right.

many of these rules make zero sense.

what numerous restaurants in the King County area are doing, is setting up patio seating outside, with tents and heating lamps. this techinically is legal.

technically speaking, this is legal...but a indoor dining is not.

You're still INSIDE something around other people...

Fucking Christ.

The Blue Whale's anus can spread to 3.5 feet in diameter making it the third largest asshole on this planet after Governor Newsome and Inslee.

lmao...

these make shitft patio tents are popping up pretty much every where if a restaurant has sidewalk and/or patio space.

I can't blame them...they are struggling...

there is a crazy statistic, like 40% of restaurants and small businesses have closed in Seattle.

I'm trying to find a source but I came across this somewhere

I don't blame them either and I can believe they're struggling. I still talk to a ton of my friends up north of Seattle in the service industry and they're all struggling.

Still doesn't change the fact that the rules as laid out don't make any sense to me. Can't eat inside, but go ahead and eat outside.... in a wall tent... right next to each other like you would inside.....
