Crime L.A. is a mess

yeah and the CEOs there only make what 6 times the avg worker and here it’s like 400, so I’d think that has something to do with it. But yeah prosperity will bring desperate people. It’s the exact reason why immigrants will get on a raft and float to America. Or atleast that’s why republicans have been telling me why this country is so great my whole life . Money and opportunity are going to bring all kinds of people needing money and opportunity. Sorry that’s a hard concept for you to grasp.
Usually it's the warm weather, not necessarily prosperity, that brings in the bums.

There is no fixing this city. What are they going to do? The Olympics is closing in. Visitors are going to get robbed and they'll highlight the out of control graffiti and crime in the city. It's one of the richest cities in the entire world. It's richer than most countries. But it's a disaster. The roads are fucked. There's graffiti everywhere.

Most people outside of California dont understand how big LA county is, its almost 5k square miles by itself

To generalize LA county is like comparing Connecticut to NY

The cities GDP alone is more than pretty much every state in the US

You’re fucking kidding right? Either your not American or you’re an idiot.

Please let us know the “tons of cities” that span “across” the US that are reasonably warm year round. They’re all literally in a few states.

I mean off the top of my head, phoenix, Santa Fe, most cities in southern Alabama, southern Georgia, southern Louisiana, Texas, and florida.

As others have said, they will 100% get it cleaned up when the world's eyes are on them, then the second it ends they will let it return to cesspit status. They have the ability to sort out these issues, they just don't want to.

This hateful obsession with people who have more money than you is a really unattractive feature of the left.

First off, your numbers are clearly bullshit, or at best meaningless without proper context, as Japanese CEOs average about 1/7th the pay of American CEOs, but the USA is wealthier than Japan with a median wage that is nearly double theirs. So for Americans CEOs to be enjoying a ratio to the median base worker wage 66x greater than their Japanese counterparts obviously doesn't add up. Did you really read that somewhere on some shit leftist blog and believe it? Are you that gullible?

Second, CEOs make up 0.016% of the adult population in the USA. That means for every one CEO there are 6,347 adults in the USA. So even if they did make 400x the amount of their base worker, if we assumed these base workers reflected the American average (they don't, but that's not the point), there would still be nearly 6000 other American workers left over forming a surplus economy. That's nearly 94% of the adult population. In other words, no, the CEO compensation packages aren't driving anyone to homelessness. The CEOs aren't a prime cause warping the price of common goods or housing. They sure as hell aren't forcing anyone to be drug addicts.

LA is a microcosm of the world. everything everywhere is fucked.

Last time I was in LA I had to hiza guruma a drunken homeless bum. Not too proud of that but the bums there are different than the bums where I'm from here in Detroit. You can tell they are used to the easy on crime laws out there. Way too aggressive. Guy lost his shit on my wife and I simply because we sat down a bench near the coast that he was sleeping under and we didn't see him. Demanded money. Not asked, demanded. Then advanced on us after we were leaving so he went shoulder first into the sand.

Yeah so in summary I'm not a big fan of LA

Except there are tons of warm cities all across the US

There's warm then there's perfect weather. I've lived all over the country...San Diego had it and LA wasn't far behind it...

Couple that with homeless friendly politics and yes, I can see why they flock there.

Now, the homeless in Chicago, Cleveland Detroit and Buffalo I wouldn't fuck with because they figured out how to survive the ice and snow...but they don't fuck too hard with random because we're not the same as the west coast folks.

See my post before this. Midwest homeless are harder, they also know that if they fuck with the wrong person they get hurt.

If they can clean up Rio for the Olympics, they can clean up LA.

Suburban LA really isn't that bad. My impression of the city as a whole is kind of underwhelming.

Born and raised here in LA. I live a pretty incredible life and am extremely blessed to be from the greatest city in the world. Granted I do well (which I attribute to being raised here) so I live in a very nice area and my days consist of the good life lol.

Congratulations Travis,

Can’t wait to see your ten year update.

588 million! That's like 2/3 the cost of the Hoover dam in today's money!
