Media KZ's pay is embarrassing

Korean Zombie deserves no less than $250k for a fight. He has earned it.

He supports the merch though

Dude made $208k in 2019 over a 6 month span, with less than 5 minutes of work. Oh, and by work, I mean by just literally punching dudes in the face.

Wtf do you mean that's embarrassing?

Means he deserves to be paid more.

You guys act like these fighters are forced at gun point. ALL of them chose fighting as a career path and ALL of them signed the contracts. They can always choose to do something else at any time. The joke is them agreeing to those terms.

Every fighter is psychologically gaslighting themselves to think they are going to be champ.

The UFC knows this and has systematically monopolized and controlled the sport with a stranglehold for decades. So they are the only place to theoretically make “life-changing” money.

They then structure the contracts so that:

-You only make big money really as champ
-You can be cut at any time (though you can’t leave at anytime...how does that make sense?)
-You are an employee in requirements but “contractor” in language (thanks to said monopoly and control of regulatory management by UFC).

They fighters have no choice but to agree to the terms in actuality (where else are they going to go?), but delude themselves into thinking about the theoretical big money in their future.

The fighters make the sport, it’s sad that after decades of hard work they are in a position to be so ruthlessly exploited with no recourse.

But hey, I already know...

The estimates are based on the disclosed purses from the time that the most recent contracts were signed and the normal, documented progression of pay in UFC contracts.

It's not like these are PPV title fights, and it's not the Zuffa era where Lorzenzo was throwing around the much lauded "backstage bonuses."

This is likely very close to his actual purse.

That said. In the future, it's going to be impossible to even do the estimates because the UFC has successfully lobbied all of the commissions to stop releasing purse information.
Everything you said is true. My position is that those numbers are on the lower end. The UFC is intentionally secretive about pay because they don’t want the public knowing so Dana can keep up the facade. I’m sure fighters talk to each other.

Now this is egregious. People were crying for Porier at 150/150 and Zombie here has probably headlined just as many cards, and been nearly as successful and gets ~25/25 lmao

Some would argue that making over 4x the national yearly average in under 5 minutes is the exact opposite of "embarrassing".
Are you not looking at his “Show pay”? I dont see how thats not embarrassing. Around $20k for a legend like KZ? That really is embarrassing.

That's all kinds of fucked up. Anybody that has fought for a belt shouldn't be getting that kind of chump change. Especially when they've headlined several events.

This is true, but the UFC uses shady, illegal tactics with their contracts. If fighters weren’t screwed over by these contracts I’d have less of a problem with it. The argument “they shouldn’t have signed the contract,”’is less important than, The UFC Shouldn't be allowed to use illegal slave contracts. (Automatic extensions = indentured servitude.)

Yeah, yeah. He signed a long term, low pay deal and then missed a lot of time due to his military commitments and injuries, but this is still a fucking joke.

Dude has headlined half a dozen cards for the UFC.

dana likes to wear korean zombie shirts, hes a fan of the guy and this is what they are paying him? like who the fuck is his manager? thats pathetic honestly.

He made $208k from Jun-Dec of 2019, and spent less than 5 minutes in the cage. These guys sign their contracts willingly, you know? Show pay didn't mean shit for KZ, he made 5x that shit. Embarrassing? Nah, bro. Quite the opposite.

everyone is complaining in this thread.

he hasn't had a reported payout since 2012!!!!

But dat exchange rate tho.

Honestly, he's one of the most exciting fighters in the UFC and that deserves pay raise.
