Yep. And according to the news article, he was one of 16 prospective johns who responded to a fake police ad soliciting prostitution services before he was busted, named and shamed. So like "To Catch a Predator" but instead of prospective s (who should be busted, named and shamed), this was a regular dude trying to engage in a paid act with (so he thought) another consenting adult.

And I don't know if this is true, but comments on reddit are saying that police stings like this often post ads with unreasonably low prices (to generate the most interest and get the most busts) that experienced johns know to avoid because the ad looks too good to be true. So the busts are likely new or first time johns who didn't know better.

Wow, that last part is wild. Maybe he can do a Jerry Springer though, and rise up from this and have an even bigger career than before. 29 years old, he cold conceivably do a lot of stuff. Now he has a story, even if it isn't the best one.

It seems like the only arrests that are made nowadays are from these sting operations, and not real prostitutes getting solicited on the streets. Police used to go out and bust johns picking up prostitutes and arrest both parties. Now the undercover cops just go online and create these imaginary situations with no real victims. Chris Hansen's new show "Takedown" is basically the new TCAP only even shadier, with their sting operations almost exactly like the one in this news article. They post fake ads soliciting prostitution with a decoy pretending to be 15 (even though their ads have the age at 18/19) then get these guys to show up and arrest them. I'll bet 90% of the Sex Offender Registry are just guys soliciting decoys and "statutory rape".

I used to be a fan of Chris Hansen's old stings that he did in conjunction with Perverted Justice, but he's just scraping the bottom of the barrel now. There's only a few places left that they can do these operations now where they can make the charges stick, and they're done in a much more devious way. Not only that, but they set up these fake profiles saying they are adult women, then they turn around and offer up their "15 year old daughter" to these men that go on these sites looking for sex. That's a hot topic. In Europe sites pop up where they trick middle aged and older guys with profiles claiming to be like 14. Than post them on social media. I only hate it cause the guys chasing them do it for like clout or maybe profit and they do if to guys they can do it with. To noone with power. And the guys look like thugs who just finished selling drugs and than go on social media pretend to be white knights. Slipery slope. If a 15 year old girl asks for sex, and you are a grown man, how bout saying no, and respecting the law.
