This was interesting. I mean we already knew who really shot him but it's cool to have even more evidence.
I dont know why its so hard for people to accept he killed himself. All he ever did was complain about life.
The whole justice for kurt thing is a bunch of crap.
"He was on a letal dose of heroin"
He was a fuckin rockstar. Kinda like an alcoholic can function with a bac of .4 when thats gonna put a normal person passed out. Do 8balls of heroin everyday you can be alert on a high dose
This video even the guy admits it wouldnt be hard to do. If youve ever held a shot gun you could for sure shoot yourself in the face if you wanted to.
I never saw good evidence that Courney did it or plotted it or whatever. People always have a conspiracy. I guess anything is possible but where is the evidence?I dont know why its so hard for people to accept he killed himself. All he ever did was complain about life.

guy in the video couldn't even pronounce the name right, it's italian and pronounced "du-che". Aside from that, not all that revealing in terms of anything. People still believe Courtney did it, I even used to have a rehearsal spot next to a band called "Courtney Killed Kurt" I hear it every so often but only from other musicians who have always loved gossip and shit talking. Vid plainly shows that it could be done without help and only oddballs still promote the murder scenario. Guy destroyed himself like a vast number of Rock stars, each and every one except for maybe Buddy Holly has had the murder theories.I like the El Duce angle. Just because
The quintessential "celeb death I've never felt bad about. They were overrated as all fuck" celeb death.I dont know why its so hard for people to accept he killed himself. All he ever did was complain about life.

Dave wouldn't kill him, what for?The quintessential "celeb death I've never felt bad about. They were overrated as all fuck" celeb death.
Seriously. Idc that they helped kill off hair metal in the early 90s. I've always hoped Dave G. somehow secretly did what had to be done lol.
Mostly I'm just taking the piss, obviously Dave wouldn't do anything like that.Dave wouldn't kill him, what for?
I never liked the era either, between that and gangsta rap, they really did succesfully kill off the rock era and wanted nothing to do with the previous eras at all, they wanted none of it, no matter how much they took from it like a parasite. I do think Kurt was a good songwriter and an ok singer, not much else though. Lots of good-great albums from my faves went ignored because of the changing of the guard.
he was pretty big before he died, pretty much overnight ended all the glitz of the 80's. I don't know how posterity would view any of it had he not died. I do know grunge didn't really have a lasting impact, came and went like so many fads before it.Mostly I'm just taking the piss, obviously Dave wouldn't do anything like that.
But if it turned out that he had, it'd be fine with me. I mostly only liked AIC as far as mainstream grunge was concerned. Can't stand Vetter to this day, Chris Cornell I enjoyed more when he was with Audioslave than Soundgarden.
Acid Bath is my fave from that early 90s transitional period, the only one I still jam regularly anyway.
Kurt just represented a certain brand of bitchy unwashed poser energy that EVERYONE seemingly adored immediately, almost overnight. Their live unplugged set was solid, the cult of personality surrounding him as an icon tragically taken too soon just never resonated with me
When Peter from Type O died, that one actually hurt me to hear about.
Mostly though, rock stars dying prematurely is part of the mythology.
Kurt's death was the best thing to ever happen to his legacy, a generation of kids my age all ate it up. Otherwise his run would have aged like milk
****
Ok, "weirdly-hostile Kurt bashing" over lol
Definitely, and I've always enjoyed your takes on Prince, MJ, Elvis etc. Guys who I actually do consider to be bona fide Icons of music, and culture in the big picture sense.he was pretty big before he died, pretty much overnight ended all the glitz of the 80's. I never liked what it stood for and as many people called it, it was whiney. I'll never forget my black friend were watching something off mtv right after he died and his contempt was venomous, mainly because, "I just don't understand what they are angry about" Which makes sense when you have a back ground of true poverty, bottom of society poverty, streetkid poverty. I never really understood it either but I've always tried to be objective. Some of the songs were good and so far as Cornel, he was one of the best vocalists in rock history, top tier but I'm not sure if he was even really grunge. I didn't know he was in a group before that.
I didn't mean to imply he did it or even Love did it, I just enjoy the fact that he found his way into such a zeitgeist moment. Guy at the flea market bootleg video booth would always add music videos to fill space on VHS cassettes. He used mentors, green jello, GG allin, gwar, etc, I lot of us around here were fans back in the dayguy in the video couldn't even pronounce the name right, it's italian and pronounced "du-che". El Duce knew the truth. They had him killed for it....
Maybe that's what Kurt bought into, they whole die young mythology, maybe that was what he wanted. I think it was Johnny Rotten who believed that and also thought it was a bullshit reason to join what Cobain's mom called, "the stupid club" . Some say Hendrix wanted to die when he did too and leave a mystique. You hear so many things, who knows. I do know that artists and particularly rock stars are almost never very balanced. You ad adulation, money, drugs to all of that and I can understand why some of these guys get lost. Many of them have real issues with major depression, I know that Prince, Springsteen, Elvis, Marvin Gaye all had a real problem with depression, severe depression. Hendrix? I think he really got fucked over with Cobain's death from a Seattle perspective, whatever his faults were, he brought so much to the table as an artist and moved the art forward way more and pioneered more things than he gets credit for but knowing his back ground, his crazy childhood, I really don't think he had a hope in hell of a long, let alone normal life.Definitely, and I've always enjoyed your takes on Prince, MJ, Elvis etc. Guys who I actually do consider to be bona fide Icons of music, and culture in the big picture sense.
And I'll never rag on folks like Swift or Beiber, as they're easy targets for criticism whether deserved or not.
It seems... unsportsmanlike when people my age (mid to late 30's and up) hate on artists that were never aimed at them to begin with.
Kurt just gets a disproportionate amount of attention for what he actually had to offer.
I'll take Rob Thomas from Matchbox 20's run in the 90s/early 2000s over Nirvana's entire catalog, let alone Dave with the Foo Fighters.
The way fans blindly blamed Courtney Love for Kurt's suicide was so blatantly shitty and misguided, I just came to despise his inclusion atop the music firmament in so many people's eyes
Kurt? Ya, he did, some say he never wanted to be a rockstar but you don't do what he did if you don't want notoriety. He absolutely did knock MJ's album of the time of the top spot (which really, doesn't prove anything but is symbolic) and overnight ended the glam rock, the pretty boy shit, the glitz. Not everyone thought that was good. Gene Simmons said of the later musics that that was a big reason that guitar based music stopped creating stars "people stopped looking like stars" while he fully endorsed the nutty aesthetics in hip hop. I kinda thought it was ironic how Springsteen was amongst the artist to have the sales slump when he was wearing the flannel, the jeans, not dressing like a star way before grunge. All the 90's stars had a hard time, Springsteen, Prince and MJ all had to incorporate some hip hop into their music, some rap and like any older artist following a fad, it doesn't always work. Prince's fans really hated the rap music, MJ did well by having guests who were hot ad some rap to his music. Springsteen? I still don't understand what the hell he needed rap beats on Streets of philadelphia but it was a big hit and I think he won an award for it.I didn't mean to imply he did it or even Love did it, I just enjoy the fact that he found his way into such a zeitgeist moment.
