If you ask me, in the street ur training really comes together perfectly.
When that rush of adrenalin comes flowing into you, you are in total contral of your opponent who is actually your pray.
Since I sarted BJJ, I have been in about 6 streetfights. I won 5 of them really easily (Usually takedown, mount, GNP and to finish it off soccerkicks). I was really confident in my ability to fight as a result.
But It had to happen, two years ago, I got KTFO in one fight, in front of a bar when i was drunk. I was trying to take him down for like 1 minute non stop but i was very drunk. So stupid thing i went toe to toe with him, we traded a bit and he caught with a left hook which i never saw coming and i fell flat on my ass, i was stunned for like 3 seconds but got right back up after and i wanted to continue the fight. But the guy went back inside the bar and didn't want anymore of it. I guess he considered a down the end of a fight.....All of my friends were cracking up coz all they had seen me do in the past was hand out beatdowns and this guy caught me good. hehehe
Now i learned my lesson, don't fight if u are so drunk that ur reflexes are completely off and u can't even take the guy down. But bjj is still awesome in a one to one fight. For two to one fight: muay thai+ bjj.
