If you ask me, in the street ur training really comes together perfectly.
When that rush of adrenalin comes flowing into you, you are in total contral of your opponent who is actually your pray.

Since I sarted BJJ, I have been in about 6 streetfights. I won 5 of them really easily (Usually takedown, mount, GNP and to finish it off soccerkicks). I was really confident in my ability to fight as a result.
But It had to happen, two years ago, I got KTFO in one fight, in front of a bar when i was drunk. I was trying to take him down for like 1 minute non stop but i was very drunk. So stupid thing i went toe to toe with him, we traded a bit and he caught with a left hook which i never saw coming and i fell flat on my ass, i was stunned for like 3 seconds but got right back up after and i wanted to continue the fight. But the guy went back inside the bar and didn't want anymore of it. I guess he considered a down the end of a fight.....All of my friends were cracking up coz all they had seen me do in the past was hand out beatdowns and this guy caught me good. hehehe

Now i learned my lesson, don't fight if u are so drunk that ur reflexes are completely off and u can't even take the guy down. But bjj is still awesome in a one to one fight. For two to one fight: muay thai+ bjj.

Why are you getting in streetfights?

Weak.

My last fight dates back to two years ago. They were all in Paris, France where I'm from. I'm 25 now and I'm too old for this shit. Anyway since I live in Serbia now, I don't fight at all since I'm a foreigner and people are real nutts here and all pack guns.

this is really a very stupid post.

when you are a good fighter you don't need to fight in the street.

Some guys just love to fight I guess...I have a freind who is like that, now he is a bouncer and an MMA fighter, so he gets paid for it. Interesting post dude.

I prefer to just make shit up on the internet and validate my badassness, and then repeat common sense mantras in my posts.

I consider myself a good all-around fighter. I know I can hold my own to pretty much anyone who would lower themselves to fight me on the street. I'm a hugely competitive person. But, since grade 7 for Christ sake, I haven't fought. Why?

Because I don't have to. You don't win streetfights, you survive them. You win tournaments. If I want to fight, I'll enter a tournament.

Hmm, I haven't been in a fight since I joined BJJ, or a year before I started. Fighting will just bring home too many problems.

Fighting = Teh Ghey

I think you guys are lookin down on it too hard...We are all men(most part) and men have the mentality to fight reason bein 98% of boxing and MMA is men...We all grew up for the most part with lil :eek::eek: fights on the play ground then to the ones in HS where it was over a girl or just talkin shit fight...Some ppl grow out of it(my dad) some dont(my step dad)...I personally got in 7-8 fights in HS, won some lost some. Iam now a sr. in HS and have(for the most part) grown out of it. I dont see the point of fighting to fight when ppl call u out at a football game b/c u are opposing school and am usually the one who breaks that shit up...But then Pride is still there, so let me ask u guys this through a story that happened at the local fair...

I have some bull headed friends who arent packin much...We'll name them Bob and Tom. Bob bumped into a random guy on accident(had his back turned)...The guy said watch where the fuck you're goin, a semi big kid but nothin special so Bob told him to fuck off with that shit and it was an accident...Evidently they got face to face, Tom started talkin shit then Random guy's friends came over...They were pry outnumbered us 2:1 so i get in the middle pushin tom bob back and tellin the others guys to back down etc. Then Tom gets faced to face with the one guy and some guy jumps over his friend a barely missin tom's face...So i push both back tom goin a lil further and the one guy pushes me and tells me to back the fuck up...I tell him i dont know him, have nothin to prove to him and he needs to walk the other way...He pushes me again, i merely look down, grin and tell him he doesnt wanna get in this with him...Needless to say cops broke it up. Now In my case, Would you of stepped up or takin the complete mature route and walked away(as i did)...? I personally regret not KTFO'n the guy right there with a straight but then would also regret the jail part(if)...

PS...We all left and Tom stayed with 3 girls and got jumped by the 15 guys...

I like baseball bats and tube socks w/ 8-balls in them...'nuff said.

But yeah, if your life isn't dependent upon your fighting then run away.

Freestyler, if a guy tells me to watch where the fuck I'm going, I say, "Sorry, okay."

It actually impresses the girls more.

Soccer kicking a downed opponent. Can you say assault with a deadly weapon? I don't get into street fights because theres too many crazy fools out there. People are quick to pull knives or guns in certain places around where I'm from. Its not worth the risk. Thats why I box.

So, what pearls of wisdom are to be gleaned from the initial post?

1) BJJ doesn't make you an invincible bad-ass
2) If you go around getting into enough fights, you will eventually get tooled
3) Getting into unecessary fights with random palookas can be a bad idea
4) Doing so while drunk is a worse idea

Startling insights indeed. One might think there's a lesson to be learned in all that, but I got a feeling the guy doesn't get it. Maybe the next time he loses a fight, he'll lose to a guy who fights the way he does and get some sense soccer-kicked into his head while he's down.

i dont fight on the street when it can be avoided.. For one simple reason.

You really have no idea who the hell you are fucking with....
Could be a black belt, could be a nut job, have a gun, a knife,....a broken bottle, brass knuckles (would cave your face in ... ive seen them live)
