PBP KSW Colosseum 2: Khalidov vs. Askham | 03.06 | 12 PM ET/9 AM PT - Discussion Thread

Brichta’s movement is far better than Kazieczko’s.

I'm really enjoying the striking skills they're bringing. I've often wondered how much these European fighters are influenced by old school Soviet boxing.

Good right hand from Kazieczko before he got knocked down. Kaziecko’s got a home for the leg kick. He should throw more.

10-9 Brichta, 29-28 Brichta. Brichta landed the better strikes and he showed far better movement than Kazieczko.

This has been such a good, technical, strong striking bout. The exchanges are razor thin in terms of who wins them.

I can live with that decision.

This just happened in KSW and my mind is still a little blown. Have you guys seen anything like this?

Noice.

Not quite as dramatic, but check out Santiago vs Khalidov 1; this was when Jorge was a beast outside of the UFC for a few years too. There is also some 2000s era fight in Japan, where some Russian guy rocked and then finished this Japanese guy who had him mounted.

Man, who merged my thread in the heavies into this one? I was asking if they've seen other knockouts from full mount before. Sherdog is weird sometimes. I obviously don't need to ask the people in this thread --- we were all talking about it in here already and the amount of examples we came up with were very limited. I thought the people in the heavies could help us find other examples. Boooo

Mods do a lot of meth with their Sherdog money

Those highlights were awesome. This match produced some nice exchanges.

I like this ethereal music. Spooky.

This guy is about to make a ghost.

I'm interested in seeing what saldaev brings to the table

The tape is coming off Rutkowski’s glove. The ref. is supposed to stop the fight and get it fixed. Can’t let him continue with the tape dangling from the glove.

10-9 Rutkowski. Quiet opening round. Neither guy did a huge amount of damage, but Rutkowski landed some bigger shots and he was able to clinch Soldaev with his back to the cage while doing a little damage from up close.

This guy might be answering my question about Soviet boxing influence. Lots of basic, fast, technical little shots slipping through.
