Isnt Chilemba the Canadian guy that fought the Russian guy who didnt want to fight?




Edit: Chilemba fought on the Kovalev/Pascal undercard and beat an opponent who didnt want to fight (literally, commentators said the ref shouldve just stopped it).

Then he lost his next fight and is now fighting Kovalev. Not sure why he would be a mandatory coming off a loss

Either that or just a stay busy fight until Andre is ready to go.

Neither of them drew anything big in their last fights. I said that they werent going to fight each other right away. Ward is going to have to fight Pascal or something.
 
Chilemba ain't bad at all... But he's a terrible match up for Kovalev. KO before 6

It's not. The only sanctioning body that rates Chilemba is the WBC (Kovalev doesn't have the WBC belt) and he's coming off a loss. Chilemba was chosen because he's a Duva fighter and isn't completely awful (he's not good, but he's not quite Rod Salka, either).

All 3 belts on the line though. Against a guy coming off a loss

I don't believe it. Kathy Duva is full of shit most of the time. Ward already said he wants another tune up first.
 
Ward/Kovalev arent ready for PPV yet, but then again Kathy Duva thought Americans would pay for Adamek vs Molina

I thought Chilemba beat Alvarez. It was a close fight, but I thought he edged it in the end.

That was actually Kathy Duva's excuse for making this fight. She said she believed he won that fight and SHOULD have been the mandatory so they decided to give him this shot at all the belts Kovalev has.
