I disagree. Including the Rakata was a huge risk and they made it work.KOTOR has that great reveal, and is very polished/complete, but it's otherwise a cookie cutter

Good description of KOTOR feeling OG trilogy. Agreed. It's a more simple story than KOTOR 2 but I'm good with that, I wouldn't change a thing even though I prefer the second. I like the mix of simplicity and complexity in SW story telling.![]()
jk. I do love KOTOR, and I think it would make an incredible Star Wars film, as it feels like the OG trilogy in a different era. I liked the Rakata implementation too, ancient civs are always intriguing, like the race in Jedi Fallen order, forget what they are called. I never played Jedi Survivor, as it was a mess at launch, but I'll get to it eventually. Hopefully they delve more into that race.
KOTOR 2 is more like Andor, or Deep Space 9 is to typical classic Star Trek.
I wouldn't change a thing either. I freaking love Star Trek the Next Generation, but DS9 is my fav Star Trek anything. However, it couldn't exist and have that contrasting appeal without TNG, same applies for KOTOR 2.Good description of KOTOR feeling OG trilogy. Agreed. The KOTOR games are my favorite SW characters and stories, even over all six of the movies.
I get angry every time I realize theres never been a great Star Trek RPG. DS9 would have been a perfect setting for it.I wouldn't change a thing either. Yeah, the closest we ever got was Star Trek Online. That had really decent ship combat/exploration though, and some surprisingly good stories with OG voice actors, but everything on the ground/space stations was poor to mediocre.I get angry every time I realize theres never been a great Star Trek RPG.
