How do you guys think KZ would do against the likes of Holloway, Yair, Dooho, Bektic etc.
(assuming KZ's skill set hasn't depreciated since his military service)

Was just curious because KZ will be done his military this year

Zombie slaughters them all.

Loses to Holloway
Loses to Yair
Probably beats the others

we still don't know many things about KZ, for example how good is his TDD, can he hang out with elite wrestlers of the division?

Zombie vs Caceres/Miller winner or Ortega/Guida loser

Fine. He'll do just fine.

Also, "new breeds in FW"?...........

Any fighter that hasn't fought under usada rules is considered untested in the octagon

He had quite a few injurys before he went for service so I hope he comes back fresh. If he does I rekon KZ is gonna run tings at FW.

New Breed doesn't exist.

MMA evolution doesn't exist only fighter evolution.

Zombie does fine.

Well, he already beat a new
breed fighter in Poirier, in
imo, the most underrated
fight of the past decade.

He had all the tools & was
still improving. Imo, depending
on where his heart & mind is
at.... KZ is still a new breed
fighter, himself.

I don't see him beating Mcgregor, Aldo, Edgar, Holloway, or Do Bronx. Hopefully he proves me wrong. Just thinking of a scenario where KZ beats Mcgregor for the belt is making me moist.

He has been training while doing his military service, apparently. So I think it's unfair to assume he has has stagnated and hasn't improved. That said, the KZ we last saw I think would beat all of them, I'm in the air about Holloway.

KZ is at the top of the division
Make no mistake he's elite
Even with his military duties I can't imagine he went cold turkey on training in some way, a nice tune up fight against one of the "new breed" fighters will be just what he needs before he tackles the top 5 for a LONG time to come

I can see him pulling off a Dom Cruz vs Mizugaki type of performance when he comes back.

Get ready the Zombie is coming guys :)

I think he has some holes in his game.. But his pace, cardio, and killer instinct will make him a force again

"New breed featherweights" lol. It's less than two years. The division hasn't changed that much.

For all we know he might come back with better skills. Military training in Korea is pretty strict last I checked. So I'm sure he's being doing a lot of tae kwon do and close quarters grappling. Things that can be added to his already great arsenal.

he has a style of fighting that is very difficult for people who arent used to it. even if they are "better" in that they do better against common opponents, he has a style that is much different to fight against his constant pressure and smothering forces you to fight at his pace and the distance he wants to fight at. he makes it impossible to slowly set something up, you always have to be fighting in a scramble and doesnt give you breaks between exchanges. nick diaz does this too, which is why even GSP said that fighting him is very weird and hard to do anything against

his toughness and chin also make it where he doesnt back off just because you crack him. its common for fighters to wing bombs when they are uncomfortable to scare their opponent back a few steps and create breathing room. kz doesnt give a fuck and just pushes harder, that is very frustrating and difficult for a lot of fighters to go against

I don't see him beating Mcgregor, Aldo, Edgar, Holloway, or Do Bronx. Hopefully he proves me wrong. Just thinking of a scenario where KZ beats Mcgregor for the belt is making me moist.

conor, aldo and edgar are very comfortable fighting in scrambles and uncommon situations but oliveira is notorious for breaking under pressure. i think holloway would have a very hard time against him due to the fact that kz wouldnt respect his hands, so he wouldnt be able to establish his range like he likes to do

when I think of new breed, I think of the next generation of fighters coming up. someone like Christian Lee. or fighters coming to into MMA with adapted rules like with the weight cutting stuff... anyways cant wait to see KZ back in action.

Like I said before KZ will be known as the guy whose career was snuffed by mandatory conscription.
