With Chan Sung Jung's military service ending this year, what are your expectations of him upon his inevitable return to the UFC? Do you see him picking up right where he left off or do you see him taking some early losses before he shakes the ring rust, or possibly never recapture his position in the top 5/10? Personally I think the time off could benefit him by allowing his body to rest and heal properly. But that's just me. What say you?

From what I understand he was basically given a desk job during his service. I hope he used his time to heal up and still keep in shape on the side. Personally I'd prefer they give him either an unranked opponent or a top 15 guy so he can ease back into the life of a full time athlete.

He'll be known as the guy whose career was killed by mandatory conscription.

I really don't care I'm just ready to see him fight again.

a long time off has ever really helped anyone, at least from what we've seen.

Lots of people have come back OK from layoffs.

And combine that with an absolutely SHITTY injury to come back from, the time off might actually have done him some good.

Or at least it might even out, and work better in the long run.

Important thing is whether he used the time to heal up well, then puts in a smart training plan before stepping back in the cage.

I think it's really hard to take that much time off and remain at the top. We'll see, from what I've seen he's been training the whole time.

I just wanna see him do mcgregor like he did hominick. Far fetched but still

Dominick Cruz. It may not have helped but it definitely didn't hurt.
but we can't really be sure if he's better or worse than he was, just in general from what we've seen it doesn't seem to really help anyone.

I can't imagine how such a long layoff could help his career....but hell, like everyone else, I hope he comes back and comes back healthy.

If I remember correctly he had some issues with his shoulder before he left so hopefully he is in shape and has been training. Zombie is foolishly fun to watch fight.

If he was smart with his time he should come back better

I will be very happily surprised if he comes back the same or better than before.

Better for sure, Zombie is young still.

Love Korean Zombie but I wouldn't be surprised if he lost his return fight, especially if they give him a top 15 guy. The FW landscape has changed a lot since he's been inactive. Would like to see him return against someone like Dennis Siver or Clay Guida.

The division is a lot better now. He got a title shot off of beating Poirier back then. I say he looks worse.
