Well, if he was about to be signed by the UFC it would have been smart not to take a fight with a beast with 6 first round KO's in his 7 fight win streak. This would be the 4th fight that ended in under a minute in his now 8 fight win streak. Maybe Erokhin is the guy UFC wants.

Actually, I just checked and he was signed and scheduled to face Ruslan Magomedov at UFC 177, but had to pull out for some reason. Kinda weird.

There is clearly something up between the UFC and some of these eastern european nations. The UFC is picking up Dagestanis by the dozen, but barely anyone from Russia proper. Make of it what you will Russians aren't the only ones getting shafted they just recently started bringing in poles. Probably don't have enough access to certain groups of fighters or are afraid they bring in the Slavic ubermen they take over the heavyweight division like boxing and Americans tune out.

Kamil Hajiyev, the producer of Fight Nights, has very good relationship with UFC.
Because Erokhin fights for them, there is a route to UFC.
Possibly Joe Silva doesn't like Russian.

I was never impressed by Odoms and was completely mind boggled when the UFC signed him and put him on the main card of a PPV. Probably for the best that he never fought and was cut.

UFC doesn't have easy access to the Russians and Poles due to M1 and KSW. They, rightfully so, lock a lot of guys down in contracts, as Zuffa do.

Erokhin is a thankful exception, he's freelancing it seems...it seems he has a fight scheduled soon, he wins that and I fully expect his next fight to be in the UFC. He's a fucking wrecking machine.
