I say they will join forces by the end of movie. They both will work together and save Mothra.

This movie fell somewhere between meh and bleh for me. Very uneven, overall. Some things where pretty cool or funny, other things straight up sucked.

I think this is the first movie I've seen with Brie Larson in it, and I couldn't stand her or her character. Doesn't bode well for the Captain Marvel movie.

And the token chinese woman? Someone tell me, why was she there? It's like directors deliberately give their shoehorned asian crowd actors completely pointless scripts, either as some sort of running joke or as a form of protest. Sort of like an Alan Smithee variant.

I give it a weak 5.

It's because China has become a real force in the movie industry, at least in terms of box office revenue.

I really liked this film. It was boat-loads of fun despite being weighted down a bit by how breezily the director seemed to approach it all. You could really tell that the filmmakers were inspired in their imagery, having a vision in their head and pursuing it full-force. The movie might have been improved by cutting back on some character so that they could expand on others, as several actors could have made their presence known more.

But obviously the best King Kong movie is still the Hong Kong version:cool:

KONG: SKULL ISLAND Director Gives His Own Honest Trailer

Also I'm pretty excited about the upcoming KONG ON THE PLANET OF THE APES six-issue crossover.

"A six-issue mini-series written by Ryan Ferrier with art by Carlos Magno (cover by Mike Huddleston), the story of Kong On The Planet Of The Apes takes place following the events of the original 1968 Planet Of The Apes. The orangutan Dr. Zaius and gorilla General Ursus lead a small group of soldiers to the Forbidden Zone to destroy any remaining evidence of Taylor’s time among them. To their surprise, they discover the body of a Kong. This is the first step of a journey that leads them, along with chimpanzees Cornelius and Zira, to discover the truth."

Sounds pretty cool but, like ... who was clamoring for this ? lol

Didn't the director go on a crazy tirade vs. Cinema sins when they sinned his movie?

Yep. Some of CinemaSins' criticisms of the film were invalid or without merit and they were just putting stuff in there to pad their video.

That is true of alot of cinimaSins. They take great liberties with what is a "sin" for the laughs. Hurts the quality of their videos but increases how enjoyable it is.

Aside from some of their bogus criticisms, I'm not really a fan of CinemaSins with the way they give their presentation. The guy narrating it sounds awful and hurts my ears. The only time a CinemaSins video was pretty good for me was when they swapped narrators with the Honest Trailers guy.

fucking
Fucking I fucking hate that fucking guy and his fucking beard.

Needs more fucking.

Let's see the crossover world get really nutty and have Kong and The Planet of the Apes vs Godzilla and.... The Gremlins. Yeah that'll work.

Wow, what a waste of everybody's time this movie was to make and to watch. This movie sucked.

4.5 / 10

Good special effects and pretty much nothing else going for it.
