Knee to the face

Was rolling around monday night with a kind of (nervous strength) blue.. moving all herky jerky. Caught me with a knee right in the eye/nose, knocked me back and couldnt see for a minute. Thing is all swelled up now and developing into a black eye.

My question is does a broken nose hurt that bad? The pain when it happened was pretty bad but later that night i iced it and now it doesnt hurt unless i push hard on it. It is still swollen and im afraid the swelling isnt going to go down or something, and if it does is my nose going to be crooked?
How long does this kind of stuff take to heal? or atleast the swelling to go down.

I really doubt it is broken, because when i have broken knuckles.. i mean i know they are broken it hurts like fuck.. and this really doesnt feel like more than a knot on the head, but it is looking like more.. The swelling makes me look like corky from Life goes on

i've broken my nose 4 times now, it really does'nt hurt that much. I suggest you ice it, maybe take some anti-inflammatories and avoid getting hit for a week or so. Whether it's broken or not there's nothing much you can do about it.

Not necesarrily. In fact, in all the times mine has broken, I think there has been maybe a few drops of blood, and that's it. Same with a buddy of mine that took a head to the nose a couple months back in class. He had to have surgery to repair it, and rebroke it in his fight in August. Didn't bleed either time.

Nose bleeds =/= broken nose, and vice versa. I may have broken mine last night after eating an accidental upkick (guy was going for an armbar, apparently). I can clearly make out where the clartilage meets the bone, as it's a green-blue from my cheek (which is tender and puffy) to the actualy cartilage in the front, then goes near black. A minor break.

Not really, the first time I broke mine it did'nt bleed at all. Then again the last time was at a judo tournament and I took a heel to the nose from someone attempting an armbar and i completely covered the front of my gi in blood.

Not much they can do. They will push it back into place and give you some groovy pain meds.

You could always grapple in a mask like Rip Hamilton in the NBA wears.

when I broke mine in TKD i pissed blood all over the guy who kicked me, the pain isnt that bad its like the same asgetting punched in the nose but u just have that wierd feeling that you initially get for alot longer.

Broken nose doesn't hurt very much.

If it looks and feels straight, it is straight. If it isn't, you may need to get it set back.

My nose is totally smashed in from boxing =( It's going to take a lot to fix it.
