Kinda disappointed with Moraes

After beating Dodson and calling out Rivera i was really hoping that fight would happen and it was badass for him to offer to fill in.

Fights and looks amazing KOing Aljo, says he wants to stay active. Again, total badass.

Then Lineker pulls out on Jimmie, and Marlon again says he'll step in. Rivera accepts, even says he'll give Moraes two pounds. Surprisingly, after all the badass talk...Moraes says no.

Jimmie comes back with 140, five pound allowance, and....Moraes says no. Now, today he says he will fight Rivera but on his own terms, despite saying twice he'd be an injury replacement.

I kinda think this time Marlons plan was that Rivera would refuse the late notice fight and he'd look like even more of a badass for offering to take another short notice fight on a weeks notice, making it sound like Rivera was afraid, but it backfired.

I hope they work something out and the fight happens, and even if it doesnt happen at 219, its still a really good bout and hope it ends up on 220 or 221. Just sucks having Marlon get our hopes up then saying no when the offer actually comes. Still like him and think he's a great fighter but dont offer to step in the still say no when the other guys makes concessions.

He offered to step up tho, it's not like anyone is forcing him to take the fight.

I doubt that fight happens at 145. More likely 140 catchweight. Respect to Rivera for even allowing him 5 pounds. Jimmie doesn’t need to do that. If you’re a replacement on very short notice, you’re accepting to make weight on very short notice. This is a number 1 contender fight in my eyes. Huge opportunity right here so Marlon has to come in close to 135.

I mean it's hard to say. I really don't think too much of it. I'm not sure how much Moraes walks around at but 5 pounds might not be enough for him to make and be at his best. You got to think he fought pretty recently and got a huge KO. He wanted the winner and likely didn't expect for this to come his way so probably isn't all that close to that weight. If he's 20 pounds over I don't think the five pounds would be worth it for him. I have a feeling this fight is going to happen and that Rivera will likely budge on his "terms" assuming it's not all that crazy considering Rivera is likely putting on weight right now. A win over Moraes after his highlight real KO is huge for him considering now many know who he is yet. Either way it would for sure make the card a lot better because I wasn't that interested in the Lineker fight tbh.

He probably got amped with the opportunity to fight a title eliminator when he called out Rivera but got his ambitions shut down by his management. 3 fights in 2 months with such high stakes was already a dumb idea to begin with.
