He took in this young naive chick, taught her how to be an assassin. Got the best coaches in the world to augment his own coaching so she could reach the top of her field.

He didn't have to do all that. He could've just banged her and then tossed her out on the street when he got tired of her.

But she wanted to be a cool assassin like him and he loved her so he went all out to make that happen for her.

Then consider her reasons for faking her own death. She says she didn't want her daughter to grow up around that assassin life. But she assumed Bill would never give that up, and she was wrong.

Look at what happened while Kiddo was in a coma. The deadly assassin viper squad was disbanded. Bill appears to be retired, living on the beach, and being a really good dad to BB. So apparently Kiddo didn't need to run away from Bill to protect her daughter. She could've just talked to him about retirement and focusing on being parents and he would've agreed that it was a good idea. BB was having a much better life with Bill than she would've had in El Paso.

IIRC
She did worse than fake her death right? She just vanished. Dude had no idea and that's worse.

Then he finds out she's alive and well and marrying another dude...total kick to the balls, and as he said, he "overreacted" and "there are consequences to breaking the heart of a murderous bastard".

I'd say she made a most terrible miscalculation that cost a bunch of innocent lives.

She also was going to marry Tommy who thought the baby was his and Bill nearly kills his own kid because of her lie.

She did think he was going to spare her and everyone though...only after everyone got smoked did she tell him in order to spare her life

Actually that's a good point. In order for Tommy to believe the baby was his, she must have banged him very early.

Like she left that hotel room after the gun fight, hopped on a plane to El Paso, and let the first guy she met raw dog her.

What a manipulative whore.

Couldn't have just worked been a frumpy waitress or single mom stripper in bumfuck nowhere...had to get raw dogged and trap a dude at a record store...

You're right...understanding intensified.

Now that I think about this more, Tommy was really a victim of her betrayal too.

Bill didn't even have to kill Tommy. All he had to do was tell Tommy the truth. That she was a liar and was trying to trick him into being a cuck and raising another man's baby.

And I bet Tommy would've sat there like,

I like this. There were no good guys in Kill Bill. Just bad guys and some were more sympathetic then others. Like the likeable pimp for example

Did he leave the assassin life though? I haven't seen the movies in a minute but I thought he was still involved.

I guess Hattori Hanzo could have been considered a good guy, but then I guess he did make weapons for knowingly bad people…does that make him a bad guy?

Also, I believe he was the only character that took revenge on Bill and survived?

If he died, I don’t recall.. it’s been decades since I’ve seen the movie

Hanzo is a good call. He taught Bill and made swords. But he was probably the best example of a good guy but he had a debt too. Hard to believe he was a killer himself but I don't know

Beatrix was an unrepentant killer, she didn't have an attack of conscience. She stopped killing because she was pregnant

Think he was still banging Ellie..but the Squad was obviously not together, and I don't think he was off pulling hits while he had a little girl.

Probably still connected or more "hands off" but could be wrong.

They never come right out and say he did. But I think he did based on the following clues:

1. He had a squad of deadly assassins, and they have clearly gone their separate ways. He was the boss. He would send the viper squad to do the hits. He didn't do them himself. So with no viper squad, he's very unlikely to be doing that kind of work.

2. He was of retirement age anyway, so this increases the chances.

3. He's clearly very wealthy, so did not have a financial need to keep doing that work.

4. He clearly loves his daughter. So it's conceivable that he would come to the same conclusion the bride did. That the girl shouldn't be raised in the criminal world.

5. He moved to a hacienda on the beach. We know this because the bride didn't know where he was, so we know he moved onto that place after she was in a coma. Moving into a cozy beach house is a very "retired" thing to do.

The only link he might have to the criminal world in the movie would be Elle. But we don't know if she's still doing jobs or not. She might be retired too and Bill just keeps her around for sexual needs.

I just think it doesn't make sense to disband the deadly viper squad if you're going to keep assassinating people.

I think Bill already explained his point of view in the movie. Something about there being consequences of breaking the heart of a murdering bastard...

Right

He...overreacted.

But....she did damn near everything wrong up to the point of causing it.

All good points.
