Why do fight choreographers insist on people doing shit like front flips from kicks like that? This is why I can't watch fighting movies
damn...gina did not age well...she looks like a washed up van damme
I dunno, why do people fall perfectly in love in movies and have impossibly cute moments together? How come in movies people can levitate shit with their minds? Why is it in movies that someone can be knocked 20 feet through the air by an explosion and get up and walk away with just a few cuts and bruises? Why is it in movies action characters hold twin pistols and perform graceful movements while avoided like 300 bullets that just got shot at them? How come. . .
is Gina supposed to look like a 60 year old Korean poker player?
Either they believe it could actually happen, they think or looks cool, or both. Doing a front flip from a kick across the face does not look cool and I refuse to believe they think it can actually happen. If the guy went down realistically from the face kick it would look more brutal and less fucking cartoonish. Less is more. The more realistic the better

I think people often watch movies for escapism--to literally escape into a fantasy world where things are stylized and idealized. They literally want to ESCAPE from reality, not be bombarded with it.
I'm not saying there's not a place for "realistic" action, but I enjoy other kinds of fantasy movie violence.
I assume you don't get into Chinese martial arts movies like Hero and Crouching Tiger?
