According to official VK page he trained yesterday in this gym (Wild Card Boxing). Anyway it's USA, but is it related to MMA Kings?
Although big Sergey's fan, it feels for me he is past his prime...
This is a great move for Sergei, other than his ground game and his cardio his Muay Thai is the weakest part of his game and working with Rafael on his Muay Thai and with Werdum on his ground game will greatly help him.
The thing is Sergei used to be very well rounded and very good on the ground. I believe he had a very strong Sambo background. Then he kind of gained some mass and became more of a striker with little concern for his ground game. I always wished he went to the UFC. I know he might get mauled by the wrestlers, but does anyone honestly think he can't stand with the likes of Nelson, Bigfoot, Browne, AA, Ben, Black Beast?
I agree, Sergei used to be much more well rounded, if I remember right he was on the ground with Werdum for a good bit of their fight and beat him. Sergei would easily be top 10 in the UFC and would be one of the best strikers they have.
As for me, fight vs Kudin looked terrible not only in wrestling for Sergey, but overall, including standing and conditioning. This was back in 2005 when Sergei was serious about training his ground game and worked hard on his sambo and even then its not like he was rolling with Werdum. He was just stacking guard and showing good posture. Hardly what Fedor did in Nogs guard. Today Sergei's ground game is literally terrible and it has been ever since Monson NS choked him. Since then he has been spending time in Holland and Thailand working his stand up and knees and his ground has looked terrible. Even in a recent bout with Kudin the Russian Kickboxer, Sergei looked so fucking sluggish in the scrambles, giving up his back etc. When you got guys like Barnett getting subbed by Rothwell, Sergei would get rolled up into a pretzel against top 10 HW grapplers IMO at this stage. If he came to the UFC he would have to figh the Nelson's, Hunt's, JDS's etc the guys who would fight his fight, only then Id see him fairing well. The grapplers would sub him rather easily IMO and this is coming from a guy who loves Sergei.

awesome news, sergei is a savage. with some top notch coaches he will be unstoppable
Yup I remember the fight well, I know everyone loves to big up Werdums ground game, but honestly Sergei was controlling him and dominating him on the ground. If anyone looked to be going for a submission attempt it was gonna be Sergei.I agree, Sergei used to be much more well rounded, if I remember right he was on the ground with Werdum for a good bit of their fight and beat him.
