Khamzat vs Prime Anderson Silva

Yeah, I think Anderson was coming down from his peak at that point. But I still think he would've won if he hadn't started acting like a fool.
Silva got rocked in the rematch. Weidman dominated him the first round and the freaking injury happened in the second round. I think he was going to lose either way in both those fights. A declining old fighter vs a coming up young tough contender doesn’t exactly end in favor of the old fella.

I chalk that up to Anderson's mental state. He was trying to win the title back after having just been KO'd (from acting a fool). In the rematch you could tell he was uncharacteristically timid.

Anderson wasn't going to remain undefeated forever but I absolutely think he wins the first Weidman fight if he takes it seriously. In that case, Weidman doesn't get a rematch and Anderson goes on to defend against other people. Which then we gotta figure out who of those people likely beats him. Probably Romero.

I don’t really agree with the narrative that Anderson didn’t take the first fight seriously. He was taunting and clowning to try and get Weidman to lose his cool and open up a bit so Silva could counter him. Chris just wasn’t giving him those opportunities.

Anderson had a rib injury going into the Chael fight, confirmed with x-rays and told on the Like Water documentary. We all saw what happened in the rematch.
In the rematch he was taken down instantly and 10-8'd in the first round, cheated repeatedly in the second round by grabbing Chael's shorts (for 17 seconds straight at one point while Chael was attempting a takedown). Really not that strong of an argument.

Anderson by anything he wants. Many people forget Anderson had the second best takedown defense in MW history.
