I know it’s just your opinion but putting Islam in there is really dumb. I’m sure Islam is a top 5 WW though
 
It reinforced my previous perspective - Usman and Colby are tough fights for anyone at 170 and they would be for Khamzat. At least I now know Khamzat has a chin; can overcome adversity; doesn't wilt under pressure; can win a tough fight when things don't go his way.
 
Only if he doesn’t wrestle. But we all saw his sparring that was posted here. I wasn’t really shocked to see him take huge punches. That was a just bleed fight, and will be remembered for a long time.
 
You forgot about Shavkat. I used to favor Khamzat to beat him, but now I'd take Shavkat over Khamzat 60%/40%.

I'd still favor him over Colby though. Stylically, Colby is an easier fight for him. No submission threat so he won't hesitate to GnP like he did with Burns and no KO threat on the feet either.

I think Khamzat could actually dominate Colby in the first round but then Colby might catch up to Khamzat.

I don't think Colby's cardio is best ever etc but we can say its better than Burns's. And Colby is a little bigger than Burns and a better wrestler.

Btw this shouldn't mean his chances are low against Adesanya, Colby too was planning to move up to face Adesanya if he win the belt because its obvious that Adesanya's weak point is wrestling.

Khamzat won, his nuthuggers won, his haters won, the UFC won, the fans won & even in defeat Giblert won infinite & permanent respect.

We will know more after his next fight. Holes were exposed in his game and his next opponent will have a chance to train to capitalize on those holes.
 
Khamzat edged the 3rd round with the early onslaught with Burns against the cage looking out on his feet a bit. After that he rallied with a series of landed wild swings.

Also giving it the eyeball test, Burns looked more beat up and tired at end of fight. So he lost a close fight.
 
Was burns really rocked at the beginning of round 3 or tired? Either way burns rocked khamzat several more times than khamzat hurt him that round imo.

Such a close fight can't be called a robbery and I wouldn't have had a problem with either fighter getting the win. However in my eyes Kamzat slightly edged it but not by much.
 
Khabib is the same as Dan Severn, very hard to land any flush shots on them, Severn took about 7 or 8 flush punches in over 120 fights, and Khabib obviously nowhere near the skill and talent of Severn however he is similar in many ways.. so hard to land any flush shots on him

Not the same level of experience though. How long has Burns been in the game and how many fights has he had in comparison?

Kamzat is still relatively new to the game and still has heaps to learn. Once he fixes his striking flaws he's gonna be even more of a beast.

Also, I hope you noticed that Kamzat decided to stand and bang with a legit striker while his strengths are actually grappling and ground and pound. And yet he still won, not by much and he did get hit a lot, but still you can wonder if the fight would have been that close had he decided to go for take downs and ground control most of the fight.
 
I must say I'm somewhat bemused to see the Khamzat and Khabib fanboys taking shots at one another.

Khamzat is an absolute beast and proved it tonight by beating Burns who is a better credentialed BJJ guy than anyone Khabib ever fought. Amazing fight and performance. I am pumped to see his next fight.

Khabib is now retired after cementing his legendary career by beating and finishing 3 tough contenders in his final 3 fights, all superb performances and submissions. He retired undisputed champion with the noteworthy characteristic or retiring undefeated without ever being cut his entire career.

Let it go people...let it go.
