Media Khamzat is becoming better at striking

Usman is about to retire

At some point he’s going to have to retire, and when he retires folks will claim he ducked the next challenger. For instance, if Usman beats Khamzat and retires, folks will say he’s ducking Luque. Folks won’t be happy until he loses to the next challenger. That’s just the way things go….

Khamzat ought to be focused on 185 after this debacle. He was lucky it was in Abu Dhabi, so the UFC could act as the commission and "fix" the scale to get it to magically balance at 171. LOL at the guy balancing the scale at 166 as Khamzat is pushing down on the towel, after he had already missed weight and was given an extra hour, and announcing "166" aloud to the room.

Why do you think the fix was in for the 171 reading? Clearly you saw what caused the 166 reading and now you can’t explain the 171 so the fix is in?

I don't get how anyone gets hyped watching people hits pads. It doesn't translate to their fights at all 'cause pads don't move like a live fighter and the combos they constantly practice never land/go out of the window as soon as they enter the cage. Fighting is mostly reactionary. Pads are only good for beginners to learn how to throw initially. After that, light sparring and scenario training is where it's at.

Well, he is focusing on power and nobody really expects Chimaev to be Buakaw

You do understand there are many different ways to work pads right? It's not all speed drills.

So he's doing things right in getting the mind games going. If you think he's that slow and stiff he's done his job.

I think he has a fight lined-up and just not made officially public yet and he is definitely in camp cause his head-coach and some of his team fly in with him to Thailand.. When he usually gears up like that he has a fight
