I like Magny but he would suffer the same fate as Li. Give him Magny if everyone else is ducking but Khamzat needs a step up in competition given how dominant he’s been.

Khamzat vs. Colby is the fight I want to see. But pretty sure Colby will aim for the more winnable (and lucrative) fight with Masvidal.

hazmat is not a proven commodity at this point. why everyone is so quick to dismiss magny i do not understand. yes hazmat has looked good. but magny has faced stronger, more diverse competition (wrestlers, grapplers, strikers, ex-champs, etc), for a longer period of time, and has generally been successful at it. he has quietly worked his way into the ww rankings, where he currently sits at #7. and out of respect for that, im gonna defer to magnys callout. i assume he has watched hazmats fights, and im guessing he believes he has the tools to win. at the very least, he deserves to not be written off.

My thoughts exactly. I don't like his chances at all but if Magny is actually the only dude willing to sign then let's do this fucking thing. If he does smash Magny as I imagine then the UFC will have no choice but to make the bigger fights we all want to see Chimaev in.

If he's called him out twice on twitter in the last month, i'd say blame the UFC for not making it?

Looking through his recent twitter he's called out GSP, Khabib, Magny, Sean Brady, Colby Covington, Brock Lesnar, DC, Nate and Nick Diaz, Conor, Leon Edwards and Usman. Idunno if he's quite in Duck territory. The UFC has a call to make, and risking their top rising star against someone as boring as Magny maybe isn't in their best interest, as shitty as that is for both parties. UFC wants an easy gigantic name like one of the Diaz's to maul to launch him into superstardom.

But Khamzat seems down and I feel it's a squish match.
