ha im big into tech and work in IT.
Everyone who knows anything about tech knows this is the mark of the beast and will bring about changes that leave everything in ruin. Corperations love it. Goverment loves it. People HATE it. Just a matter of how to adjust to this new dystopian world we're creating.
AI is going to be the most impactfull thing on our society since the internet. for better or for worse (mostly worse from where i stand)
(sadly) Word.
The ultra-wealthy, corporations, and governments have (already) invested SO much money into AI that it's "too big to fail". . . .just like the Titanic -_-
You'll notice that it's being pushed, HARD, down your throat every time you're on social media, every time you use a search function, every new app you open or download on your phone, most suggestions and sponsored content on your feeds (e.g., on FB I get a real person I know's post about one out of every ten items on my feed), and you'll also see constant "sign up (read: pay) to take courses on AI! Don't be left out! You NEED to (pay us to) learn AI, or you'll regret it!"
. . . . meanwhile, it's replacing jobs by the tens and hundreds of thousands, and a bunch of people with AI certificates, or worse, diplomas from otherwise legit schools, are going to be sitting around, doom-scrolling, with their thumbs up their asses while AI is doing everything they went to learn about having AI do lol.
And don't even get me started on how AI (and modern handheld tech in general) is destroying kids' attention spans, social skills, and confidence (as well as, apparently, conservative men that can't seem to find women/"male loneliness epidemic"), or how in higher-ed especially, virtually all students are using AI to write papers, theses, dissertations, etc., while the admin is using AI (from the same companies, no less!) to try to "catch" "cheaters", all while PAYING the SAME AI companies for their AI software! just. . . . epic facepalm for humanity.
The only silver-lining I see is that, due to the absurd
over-investment in AI, the bubble will burst soon, the already ultra-rich will make of with billions, and then reality will slowly set back in for the masses.
jeje Back to important business though, yes Kumshot's post was very cringey.
