Khalil and Jiri are nothing alike in the striking department. Khalil is short and compact, stands right in front of his opponents, and is very technical. Jiri is long, uses a lot of movement, and constantly leaves himself out of position.

I do agree that Khalil is a more dangerous fight for Alex, though.

khalil is very explosive, very fast. but even with his improved muay thai, he is not as technical. and, importantly, he loses focus more often than alex, who always seems to be dialed into what’s happening in the moment. he could get the jump on poatan, but what is more likely is he sees an opening and attempt to capitalize, but leaves himself open for poatan’s hook. this has happened to several more focused fighters than khalil. but i do think people tend to underrate khalil based on his ranking. it’s a dangerous fight for alex.

Khalil was getting his legs chewed up by Marcin Prachnio just a few years ago, I can’t imagine what horrors Poatan would do to his calves if he plays that game.

Not saying he can’t win but he needs to pressure and blitz or bait Poatan to do the same (where his defense drops).

Also he fights nothing like Jiri, doesn’t have the height, reach, or durability. He has crisper boxing and is much faster though, so if he can get in the pocket it could be anyone’s fight.
