Why do people keep saying Khabib will lose due to cardio? He's never gassed out in his career. How can his cardio be his "weakness" if he's never gassed out?

the pros know hes a cardio machine and break people using high pressure and a high pace. to anyone with an ounce of knowledge in combat sports khabib is a proven cardio machine. Why do people keep saying Khabib will lose due to cardio? Because he generally get's the take down and lays on people most of the fight and has time to recover. IMO If Dustin is pressuring Khabib on his feet you will see him slow down by the 2nd half of round 2.Why do people keep saying Khabib will lose due to cardio? He's never gassed out in his career. I think it (making Khabib gas) can be part of a larger strategy. Some of the answer is "if you were Dustin's trainer, how would you prepare to fight him?" Maybe trying to gas out Khabib provides a very low chance of winning....but still higher than all the other options.

Even so, you are expending far less energy, less than 50%, on top of someone, than standing up.Lays is equivalent to smashing their faces for you ?

Slowed down =/= gassed. I like your explanation, I just don't see how slowing down a bit while dominating every high level opponent you've faced is a feasible argument for having a shitty gas tank. Or even a suspect one. Some of the answer is "if you were Dustin's trainer, how would you prepare to fight him?" And no, he has never lost a fight by gassing. But he has definitely slowed down. But as others have said, he controlled when, and took time off in order to save energy. Very smart. He has managed his energy quite well. But he has slowed down.
Tony never wrestles his opponets, its much more taxing on the body to wrestle for 25 min than it is to strike. He has slowed down a little in fights before, but not too badly. Against Poirier who has a questionable gas tank, it isn't really a concern.
His cardio could be a concern against Tony though
