It looks like it's ready to go and it would be a shame if the first blemish on his record was the result of a doctor stoppage due to an ear bursting or ripping.

It's happened before...

Nope. It's hard as a rock, but I know what side he will shoot on.

If you were a figther, even if you'd never saw any tape on khabib, that ear would be a pretty big tell. Not that it would matter, he'd still get you down.

lots of guys with cauliflower ear just as bad i think... it's very rare for a rupture or tear

You are right he is definitely a right shooter but still people cant seem to be able to get an underhook on him and stay standing because he is very creative at guiding them to position where he can pick em up or trip them down.

Dos Anjos kind of blamed his loss to Khabib on his ear rupturing during camp.

I know a lot of fighters have bad ears, but it DOES happen and it would really suck if it caused your first and only loss.

obviously it does happen and yes it would suk. but it's rare. think of the number of times these guys have gone to the mat and the number of times they have ruptured an ear. it's a 0.00001% chance of happening kind of thing. i'm not going to be "concerned" about freak occurrences happening

That's the thing though. They're not getting ruptured by grappling. They're getting ruptured from strikes, and these fighter's ears aren't exposed to that kind of striking in training. Obviously, it's not common, but if there's any preventative measures he can take, he should take them now.

Hope none of them have problems with it...but fighting comes with a price...someone should study ways of avoiding it for fighters.

good news: khabib doesn't strike

I saw an interview with him earlier this week, and wow, that thing was just out there.

You know what I'm saying. When people are rolling, they're rolling. When they're striking, they're either going easy, wearing headgear or heavier gloves. Nobody is getting punched, elbowed, or kicked at full speed on their unprotected cauliflower ear.
