He's been out for 2 years, he just had a smash fight that was basically a tune up and for him to make some cash. Yes, he beat the current champ, but the guy has been out 2 years, and the LW landscape has changed since he's been out. Does he warrant a title shot for his next fight? What say you, Sherbros?

Personally I feel like Ferguson is the most deserving of a title shot right now but I wouldn't be upset to see Khabib in there ..
 
Nah rebook the Ferguson fight.

Make him prove he can stay healthy.
 
No, he hasnt fought much top 10 ufc opponent's, he has a win over the champ two years ago, since rda has gotten much better.
He needs to beat ferguson imo, khabib just beat somebody we never heard of, and he already wants to take 6 months off after being off for two years...
As a khabib fan who bought tickets to watch him live, no.
 
No. His record is great but keep in mind his biggest win is over RDA several years ago.
 
@Hardkore my vote is Khabib title shot. Agree with your marvelously worded OP but I wouldn't mind Ferguson booked in a separate number one contender fight. He has been on a tear but nobody in his current streak is a better victory than RDA. Khabib vs RDA/EA winner makes sense.

Really coming around on Khabib. Always thought he got a pass for his style considering how this place shits on grapplers. At the same time I appreciate dominance, and the way he's been bunching panties around here makes him more likeable.

That's exactly how I feel, but I didn't want to show any bias in my OP.
 
For sure.
He definitely deserves it more than Alvarez. Hell, Cucuy deserves it more than Alvarez too.

No it isn't. He has one win in 2 years against someone who used his vacation days to take the fight.
 
If Eddie Alvarez can get a title shot by getting his ass whooped by Cerrone, squeaking by Melendez, and blatantly laying on Pettis, then literally anyone in the top 3-4 has a legitimate claim for a title shot.

I would prefer he fight Ferg and beat him before he gets the TS. However, I'm not going to protest too much either if he gets it. The guy has paid his dues for the most part, and as much as I find him to be annoying, he's a remarkable talent.

Ferguson definitely deserves it, Khabib would be my second for most deserving. Both are light years ahead of Alvaraz though and that's coming from a fan of Eddie's.
