Khabib vs Taisumov

I thought it was about Khabib vs tiramisu
 
They said they would never fight. They are friends.

But if Khabib held the belt and Mairbek was the clear #1 contender I could see it possibly happening.

Taisumov definitely has better striking while Khabib bas better takedowns and grappling.
 
I don't think they will ever fight so it's useless to debate about it.
 
Taisumov hasn't fought anyone with a serious ground threat since the Prazeres fight, which he lost.

You see where I'm going with this.

Says he had Staph leading up to the fight.

Taisumov could win it. Doubt they’ll fight unless it’s for the title though.

Plenty of politics to stop that from happening.
 
Taisumov is good and looks great on the feet. But I haven't seen anything of his that tells me that he could defend Khabib's takedowns. He has beaten some good guys, but not great guys.

I heard that but I don't know if I believe it. He grabbed the fence a lot in that fight which makes me think he doesn't have the skill to defend takedowns from competent grapplers, especially from Khabib.

Taisumov has been fighting like top 20 + talent though so its hard to gauge how he'd do, I think he should rematch Prazeres.
 
Can't wait to see Taisumov back in the Octagon again, that man's a savage. I hope he gets a top 15 opponent next.

I’ve been watching Taisumov in the Russian leagues before he entered the UFC.

He’s got the skills trust me. The guy can wrestle and he’s got Jits.. And he’s got a piston of a right hand id compare to Dan Henderson, only faster.
