Cliff notes:
  • Most media scorecards that I've found had it for Tibau
  • Actual scorecard had all 3 judges scoring it for Khabib
  • Raw fight metric stats suggested that Tibau had a tiny edge, but it was close enough to say that output was equal
  • The MMA scoring rules at that time were based on:
    • Effective Striking
    • Effective Grappling
    • Effective Aggression
    • Octagon Control
  • The judges scored the fight in favor of Khabib because they saw striking/grappling being neutral whereas Khabib had more octagon control and was the aggressor in the fight since he controlled the center.

TIbau won but it was years ago so it doesn't really matter at this stage.
 
When shit is equal the guy moving backwards loses. Just how it goes.

prob b/c the new undefeated champ did the same thing to one of their favorite lightweight fighters. haters have a hard time seeing the truth

Because rounds are a thing? And it was 28 strikes to 25 strikes?

R1: 10 significant strikes to 8 significant strikes
R2: 9 significant strikes to 9 significant strikes
R3: 9 significant strikes to 8 significant strikes

As far as I'm concerned those three rounds are all tied right there.
 
I'm re-watching the fight right now...

edit:
Round 1: 10-9 Khabib
Round 2: Close round but I give it 10-9 to Tibau
Round 3: Another close round but I give it 10-9 to Khabib, due to aggressiveness and Octagon control.

IMO: 29-28 Khabib
