Let me start out by saying, yes i completely agree that Khabib is one scary dude and could easily be the LW Champion in 2018. But, i have been reading so many posts stating Conor has no chance based off how much success Khabib had against Barboza. These fighters are nothing alike outside of them both being stand-up fighters.
Firstly, i think this fight will look NOTHING like the one last night. Conor is probably the most dangerous fighter in the UFC inside the first 2 rounds. He has a cardio problem and Khabib knows about it. Rushing forward yesterday was a direct counter to Barboza's kick heavy fighting style, as Dom pointed out, and would be a very risky game to play with Conor early.
Barboza is no world beater. Sure, he has some highlight real knockouts, but its not against top competition. His best victories are decisions in Pettis and Melendez. He's also not a fast starter nor a counter puncher. Everything about his victories rely on his ability to use his kicks.
We've been given absolutely no reason to doubt that Conor would absolutely tool Khabib on the feet. He's done it to everyone, even in his loss to Nate, who had an 3.5 inch reach advantage as well as a very noticeable height advantage, he had dominated until he gassed. We have absolutely no idea if Khabib can take those same shots.
Conor is going to have a 4 inch reach advantage against Khabib and is only very slightly shorter. This mixed with being a very successful counter puncher is going to make for a very different first few rounds. I see Khabib being a lot more patient in this fight and not trying to force a take-down by charging in recklessly.
