Not that I care, but it's a response to this rather shoddy thread:
Tony Ferguson has ONE top-5 win in the UFC | Sherdog Forums | UFC, MMA & Boxing Discussion

Khabib only has two Top 5 wins: Poirier and Gaethje. I haven't even confirmed those guys were Top 5 at the time, but I'm pretty confident they were. As for other potential Top 5 opponents:
  • Conor dropped out of the rankings before fighting Khabib after a 2-year layoff and only one LW fight
  • RDA was #10 before he fought Khabib in 2014
  • Al Iaquinta wasn't Top 5 and I don't think even Top 10 when he fought Khabib
I had all the links then closed my post browser window by mistake. Others are welcome to double-check me. Bottom line: the guy many consider the LW GOAT has a total of one more whopping Top 5 win than Tony Ferguson does. So maybe that stat isn't so damning after all.

The point here isn't to bash Khabib, but rather to bash cherry-picked data.

Khabib might be GOAT in terms of his grappling skill. But I can't rate him as one of the GOATS as there was still many contenders out there he never faced and with that comes questions. What ifs and doubts. A guy like Jon Jones or GSP answered those questions. But with Khabib too many unanswered questions.

I mean does it really matter? He had his time, he’s retired now. Goat talk is so played out at this point, it’s made up lists with personal criteria.

But if you’re gonna post this at least get it right. Conor and RDA were top 5.

So 3 top 5 wins in actuality but only 2 count because a few sherbros disagree, alright then.
No, because I use a single data source as anyone should. Nothing to do with Sherbros.

Nope, neither were per the Sherdog rankings at the time of the fights. And you missed the point. This was a response to someone trying to bash Tony Ferguson using the same metrics.

Yeah, he was overrated, he only fough bums and should retire... oh wait, he already did.

Bums, no. But you could say he only fought strikers, with the exception of Tibau (never better than a mid-level LW in the UFC) and maybe RDA. But bashing Khabib isn't the point here. I'm not denying he was a great fighter--though he retired way too early to be in any P4P GOAT talks.

When you saw Khabib fight, who exactly did you see stopping him? And how? I mean, maybe GSP comes close in grappling dominance. Really, Royce in his time is the only comparison. So many beeb bashing threads today.

Khabib never fought a dominant wrestler in MMA. Well except Tibau who made him look mediocre.

Khabib's offensive grappling is the best ever, but it's not hard to imagine a strong wrestler shutting his grappling down and winning the stand up.

A guy like Colby Covington would be a difficult match up. WW was home to strong wrestlers so no wonder Khabib wanted no part of it.
