Khabib Nurmagomedov has one win over opponent currently ranked in the top 10

TS, you are right on that, but you shouldn't throw yourself right in the front of the incoming hype locomotive.

Khabib is a nice fighter and he has the tools to be the legit champ and as for now we can't take his credits away much too far, he was indeed willing to fight Tony, and just the willing to fight the head of the division already puts him ahead of McChicken by a fair margin.

It's like saying: I can't believe people where so excited just because he won an UD over the 11th ranked fighter to earn the championship belt, it was almost like a belt giveaway ceremony. <- That is right, but again it's not his fault nobody wanted to fight him on short notice.

So all in all as long as Khabib defends the belt we're already in a better position than where we were last week.

EDIT: Oh yeah, and he LNP'd RDA, which is a top notch fighter, champion stuff.

I think RDA was ranked top 5 so I wanted to say top 5 but wasn't sure, so I said 7 to not be wrong. lol
Oh yeah, and regardless of position RDA is indeed a tough guy.

In fact had you say RDA instead of top-7 fighter I'd be sold right on spot lol

HOLY COW, this guy is the epitome of a record padder, hell, he's the champion of that for sure.

Not only does he have only 1 win over a top 10 opponent, he beat the number 11th ranked guy to win the fake belt. LOL, I can't make this shit up, look up the record yourself.

1 Tony Ferguson (Interim Champion)
2 Khabib Nurmagomedov
3 Eddie Alvarez
4 Edson Barboza - KHABIB BEAT
5 Dustin Poirier
6 Justin Gaethje
7 Kevin Lee
8 Nate Diaz
9 Michael Chiesa
10 James Vick

While guys like Conor and Eddie are taking out number 1-2-3 contenders to get a shot, Khabib goes in there, by pure luck and freak accidents, he gets to fight #11 ranked fighter to win a "title".

No way no how is he a champion in my book, or any other MMA purists for that matter.

Im a purist, and he is the champ. Conor hasn't fought in 500+ days in the division, and Ferg tripped over himself and got injured, no one else took the fight. He will solidify it when he fights again in November vs whoever.

When someone holds up the division with no intention of defending his belt it leads to this cluster.

Yup.

Conor has 3 p4p ranked wins, including the P4P #1 in Aldo.

As much as I don't like Tony Ferguson, he's actually more deserving of the champion than Khabib. He's actually beaten a few of the top ten guys, and never lost his fake belt.

Khabib should not be champion because of freak injury and a win over a fighter ranked 11th. That's just sick.

Tony didn't make it to the fight....so there is that. I get why you would have a problem with it, but as Max would say "it is what it is" and Khabib is champ and will hopefully fight Tony as he stated in his interview after the fight to solidify it.

He's beaten RDA who is about to fight for the title.

Honestly Nate shouldn't even be in the top 10. He hasn't fought at LW since 2015 for fucks sake

There's no doubt his resume is a bit thin, but it's coming along and has gotten much better in the past few years. A win over Ferguson is what he needs, but who knows if that fight will ever happen. Beating Eddie would do wonders as well imo.
He needs to beat Eddie, Ferguson Lee or Gaethje for me to be sold completely. especially Eddie and Tony... they both would have slept him in the 4th imo. Both possess better wrestling and cardio than Al with better striking.

Khabib TD% is 41%
Eddie TD defense is 100%

I see him giving Khabib trouble after Khabib gases out trying to get him pregnant for 3 rds. He either gets KOd in the 4th or 5th or holds on to a decision.

hey conor blind follower who fucking care. all khabib can do is fight who in front of him.

before conor got his fw title shot he didn't fight any ranked people either.

i will admit the 4 tony fights cost time fighting top what ranked tony was during all 4 times.

conor beat dennis siver where he ranking.

Look yea you have a point. It doesn't change my opinion though. I've watched the guy fight and clearly dominate everybody. He's not perfect, so I'm not buying into the idea that he's invincible. To me it's just a matter that his career is just now at that level where he will only face top 10 guys. Had he went on to smash tony over the weekend we wouldn't be having this conversation. It sucks for khabib, but he will have his time to prove.

Eddie refused to fight Khabib

Stop lying, he agreed to fight on 6 days notice at a catch weight since he couldn't make weight, he was 191, Khabib said no. He agreed to fight in June at 155, Khabib said no.

He's actively seeking a fight with Khabib right now as says he's the only LW that can beat him, Khabib talks about fighting GSP and Conor.

Who's refusing to fight who?

Only in crazy land is Nate Diaz or Kevin Lee a better win than former UFC LW champion RDA.
TS is out to lunch.

Who's tony ferguson beat that khabib hasn't? I just checked....Kevin lee. He lost to michael johnson who was smashed by khabib.

Lol saying Conor is taking out contenders when he has 1 fight at 155, his title fight

conor murders row in ufc Marcus Brimage Diego Brandão Dennis Siver what ranked were they. let me hink no where.

yes conor fought max but that was max taking the fight on short notice today max crushes conor even at 155.
not sure how to rank the dustin fight. not dustin at 155 is a different fighter i can see conor still winning but it not the push over fight it was back than.

Yes what was Khabib thinking not fighting a retired guy that wouldn't defend his belt and someone that shredded their knee a week before their scheduled fight?

dragonclaw has three threads crying about Khabib in the last three days.

He's 26-0 overall, 9-0 in the UFC and doesn't even lose rounds lol.

Wins over RDA, Edson Barboza, Al Iaquinta, Michael Johnson

Even his lower tier wins came against tough guys on win streaks like Trujillo, Healy and Tibau.

There's simply no one more deserving to be the LW champ.

Tony Ferguson has an excellent resume as well and should get a shot soon but he needs to stop wearing sunglasses indoors like a douche.

And based on your stupid ass logic, he only has 2 top 10 wins (Lee and Barboza) and has actually lost to a guy that's not even in the top 10 (Michael Johnson) who Khabib beat easily (OMG) lol

Tony only beat 2 and Connor beat 1

Conor beat Nate and Eddie.

Conor's win over Eddie was far more impressive than Khabib's win over Al and more impressive than Tony's win over Kevin Lee for the record.
