I feel bad for khabib he may have a great comeback but that fight won't prove anything to anybody. Tha's the sad truth. People will claim that he fought a can and that he needs to fight Tony and Melendez to even be considered for a contender.

It'll prove he can get in the ring (well, the inferior cage, at least) after years away, that will be worth something (...if it happens... still a few days for him to pull out :D)

Who cares? It'll give him some needed exposure and a tune up fight. I mean gone for two years and then fighting a beast like Ferguson? That's crazy.

Well, he hasn't fought much the past few years, and that's nobody else's fault. He could use a fight against a non-elite guy.

It will be good for him to gain confidence, and to shake off any ring rust. If he has any. Warming up for bigger fights is not a bad thing. He's coming back from a long layoff.

It can serve as a tuneup fight. Only problem is will khabib fight again before Ramadan? Probably not. Which sucks because I wanted to see Tony vs khabib.

This shouldn't really be looked at in a negative light, he's not the one who pulled out and it's important for him to get some octagon time after a long layoff. Of course he's expected to win but the fight is not worthless. If he looks close to the level he was at before, he may gain back a lot of the steam he had before all the injuries frustrated a lot of fans. Tune up fights are under-utilized, you don't want to be fighting El Cucuy after 2 years off.

The question becomes, who fights for the title? Eddie Alvarez is the only possibility.

Not only that but after he wins, he'll get signed for an actual worthwhile fight but get injured and pull out again.

Agreed. It may not be impressive, but it's certainly more intelligent. To be honest I'm surprised more fighters don't this.

It's an important fight for Khabib because he's been out so long and Tony has been so active. If you wanna build guys, they need a tune up fight every now and then. I'm not that mad. Glad to see Khabib dominate. Horcher is a decent fighter though.

as long as he wins his next fight will be a serious contender and all will be forgotten and with injuries and what have you who knows it could be a title shot next... this would be a loose loose if he wasnt out for the last 2 years but given the circumstances its w/e

He needs a warmup fight. It is possible he looks like crap due to all the injuries
