How come Khabib can't move back up to 170? He was destroying cans on the Russian regionals at 170 after all.

I think Khabib also has a vastly different bone density also. He's just built like he's heavy.

some of those bouts were multiple fights in a night. Why would you cut down to 155 if you had to fight 3 times in one night? How many people do we see were in a different weight class before entering the ufc? This is not exclusive to khabib. Ronda rousey started off her career as a featherweight.

Why would he? He have been a LW all his UFC career and was defending his belt at his division like any rational champ should do.

Conor was always a natural LW that was good at cutting weight, also his fights at WW(UFC) are against bloated LW so it doesn't count much

[The U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) announced Wednesday that UFC lightweight Islam Makhachev had been found "without fault or negligence" for an out-of-competition drug test administered on April 4 that popped positive for the banned substance meldonium. As a result, Makhachev will not face further punishment for his positive test.


Makhachev, 24, was flagged for an out-of-competition urine sample and pulled from competition the day before his April 16 fight against Drew Dober at UFC on FOX 19. USADA formally lifted Makhachev's provisional suspension in early July but continued to investigate the failed test.


USADA ultimately ruled that Makhachev's testing failure stemmed from a "radiofrequency ablation procedure for frequent ventricular arrhythmia" the fighter underwent in Dec. 2014. As part of a follow-up treatment plan, Makhachev's physician recommended the fighter take meldonium "as a preventive measure against a potential relapse" in Nov. 2015. Makhachev then took meldonium for four weeks but stopped his use prior to Jan. 1 2016, the date meldonium was added to the WADA banned substance list.


"After a thorough review of the case, USADA concluded that the extremely low meldonium concentration in the athlete's urine sample, combined with the athlete's explanation of use, was consistent with ingestion prior to the substance being officially prohibited on January 1, 2016," the organization announced in a statement. "Based on the latest guidance offered by WADA on June 30, 2016, for cases involving meldonium, Makhachev will not face a period of ineligibility for his positive test."]

 
He's not a goat candidate..

The potential of khabib is a goat candidate and combined with a dislike for conor, religion, west vs east i can see how stupid people makes this mistake..

I don't doubt his skill.. he'd probably make goat but the resume is just to thin..

Iaquinta - cowboy fucked him up..

Dustin - good win but not impossible to beat no matter what version.. alvarez finished him..

Justin - also very good but alvarez and dustin finished him..

Conor - a mentally unstable version battling the law, a fortune not sitting well and himself.. finished dustin and alvarez..

He never faced tony because of missing weight..

This is not shitting on anyone mentioned.. i have alvarez over khabib on lw goat.. i hope dustin becomes champ because of him being an awesome guy and justin is probably my favourite fighter..

It's just not a good enough resume to be in goat talks at this point..

i cant believe there is even a single person debating conor vs khabib when it comes to size. (but this is sherdog afterall, and even worse the khabib fans/conor haters might be the worst/dumbest ppl on this website. even worse than the conor nuthuggers tbh)

anyway, khabib is huge for lw. not the biggest, but in current iv-less time in the ufc hes probably in the top 3. anyone saying conor is as big or bigger is absolutely delusional. conor was a HUGE fw. i dont think anyone disputes that, but at lw, conor is pretty average.

This is a dumb narrative, Khabib is about the same size as other LW's. His weight cut struggles are more to due with Islam being the team nutritionist as opposed to him hiring someone with actual credentials.

When he had Tyler Minton as his nutritionist before the Barbosa fight, he didn't look drained at all and there was quotes from him deliberating about going down to featherweight at the time.

Not technically though, many other commissions allow up to a .4 and round down. Had the fight been in Vegas he also would have made weight.

Conor looked deathly at FW and stopped fighting in that wt class once IV use was banned. Clear as day unless you’re a nut huggers.

Also you can’t be serious if you’re saying khabib “easily” looks bigger than Conor in that pic.
